PRODUCT NEWS Company Eurotech SanDisk Kore Amazon Web Services (AWS) BEC Technologies Tennany Company KORE ARM SIGFOX Description Eurotech enhanced its in Remote Device Management capability by introducing Everyware Cloud 4.1 offering in its M2M/IoT Integration Platform. SanDisk enhanced its storage solutions portfolio by offering Industrial Grade Flash Storage Solutions for IoT data storage requirements for the connected industrial applications. Kore introduced a new M2M platform for fleet management applications named Position Logic Dispatch Module and Virtual Dispatch Assistant, which offers dispatch planning solutions and reduces the requirement of purchase personal navigators, thereby reducing the overall cost involvement. Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the introduction of its new platform IoT which enables the customers in connecting and managing devices, which are leveraged in the processing, analysis and execution on the basis of IoT data collected. BEC Technologies introduced a portfolio of network communications solutions, which included its advanced in-vehicle 4G LTE M2M solution offering for facilitating mobile broadband connectivity Tennany Company introduced IRIS Asset Manager Solution, which leverages IoT features to provide its customers with features which includes Remote visibility for monitoring machine performance, usage of equipment and locating the machines, thereby enabling them to reduce cost and also enhancing the machine efficiency and productivity of its employees. KORE introduced Position Logic Dispatch Module and Virtual Dispatch Assistant solutions, which facilitates the enterprises in the provisioning of location-based services for business-to-business applications. ARM further strengthened its presence in China by introducing cloudenabled ARMmbed IoT Device Platform, an education kit for universities which teaches the students for creating smartphone apps and controlling connected devices to gather weather related data like humidity, temperature, air pressure etc. SIGFOX opened its regional headquarters in Dubai with a view to target and manage its IoT network rollout in the Africa & Middle East region. Qualcomm Oracle Qualcomm introduced 2 modems namely MDM9207-1 and MDM9206 to facilitate the cellular connectivity for various devices and IoT system deployments. Oracle introduced a suite of integration services to facilitate its clients to connect their cloud mobile and IoT systems into its Oracle Cloud Platform. 2. Arrow Electronics partnered with Kontron, to introduce IoT technology offerings in the train transport system, whereby both the companies would leverage OEM Computing Solutions from Arrow and modular TRACe computers capabilities of Kontron, to manage and monitor railroad system by offering information to the train operators in real time. ThingWorx partnered with Analog Devices to leverage its ThingWorx IoT platform to offer the customers with integrated sensor to cloud environment. SIGFOX partnered with NETTROTTER and El Towers for the deployment of SIGFOX IoT network across Italy. BEC Technologies introduced a portfolio of network communications solutions, which included its advanced in-vehicle 4G LTE M2M solution offering for facilitating mobile broadband connectivity Aeris partnered with Isotrak to jointly collaborate for the deployment of IoT connectivity and data Visibility capabilities for its 3iS FleetVision solution to facilitate in fleet management for the customers of Isotrak, by leveraging AerCore IoT and M2M network, AerVoyance IoT and M2M analytics platform and AerPort connectivity platform from Aeris. Kore, Mallegan Telefonica, Indra Telensa, Gorizont-Telecom SAP, Tech Mahindra Telit, Nastek Indústria e Tecnologia Ericsson, AT&T, Altair Jasper, IBM Wyless, Evolve Telecom Kore partnered with Mallegan for integrating its Position Logic software with the Magellan RoadMate RC9496T-LMB devices, to facilitate Advanced Location-Based Transportation Management and fleet management services, by enabling the fleet managers in creating, assigning and grouping them for location-based jobs requirements. Telefonica partnered with Indra to offer Digital Hospital solutions globally with special focus in the Latam region, which will further facilitate the remote monitoring services deployments in the region and worldwide as well. Telensa partnered with Gorizont-Telecom for the deployment of smart parking technology at more than 3,000 parking spaces in the capital of Belarus. SAP expanded its focus on IoT by partnering with Tech Mahindra to offer solutions which facilitates in collecting the data on electrical vehicle charging patterns and transformer performance. SAP also had partnered with Tangoe to enable its customers leverage the SAP HANA platform in the successful implementation of the IoT deployments for its customers. Telit partnered with Nastek Indústria e Tecnologia for the integration of its cellular and GNSS IoT modules with Yon Motor, a product offering from Nastek Indústria e Tecnologia, to offer a vehicle tracker along with a mobile app. Ericsson alongwith AT&T and Altair offered a new power saving mode which will enable IoT devices to reduce their longevity owing to reduced power consumption and also facilitate the managers in reducing the maintenance costs and extending their M2M network. Jasper and IBM partnered together to integrate the Control Center (IoT service platform of Jasper) with IoT foundation (of IBM), to facilitate their mutual clients in the end-to-end IoT deployments, enhances their analytics capabilities (by leveraging Jasper s Control Center automation capabilities and IBM Bluemix analytics). Moller-Maersk Group Leading Utility Companies in The Netherlands Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) Emergency Response Team in US Contract Description AT&T was selected by A.P. Moller-Maersk Group to offer its Internet of Things (IoT) technology, to enable Moller-Maersk monitor its refrigerated containers globally. Telit was selected for a contract worth US$30 million for supplying CDMA 450 MHz modules to a leading smart meter vendor for deploying smart electricity meters in Netherlands. The consortium of Atos-Sagemcom was selected by Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) for supplying, deploying, managing and monitoring more than 216,000 smart meters in Serbia. Gemalto was selected to offer IoT smart data offerings using its cloud-based Sensor Logic Application Enablement Platform to the emergency responders in the US, for translating data and SMS alerts to reduce the response time and improve the outcomes of the actions by the emergency response teams in US. SIGFOX City of San Francisco SIGFOX was selected by the City of San Francisco, for the deployment of dedicated IoT network to offer 2-way connectivity for the smart city programs and for enterprises across diverse industry verticals. Telit Sierra Wireless UK s Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC). Iskraemeco Telit was selected for a six-year contract worth $220 million (approx) for the supply of cellular technology for the Smart Metering Implementation Project of the UK s Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC). Sierra Wireless was selected by Iskraemeco to offer its Sierra Wireless AirPrime HL Series embedded modules, for facilitating the cellular connectivity for the smart meters deployment in the Netherlands. MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS Acquiring Company PTC Acquired Company Vuforia business from Qualcomm Connected Experiences Description PTC announced to acquire the Vuforia business from Qualcomm Connected Experiences, whereby both the companies will leverage mutual capabilities in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT) and augmented reality (AR), to offer the customers with the capability and functionality for designing, monitoring and controlling the products. Telular SMARTLogix Telular acquired SMARTLogix to strengthen its commercial Telematics platform and will become a part of the Telular s SkyBitz division. IBM B2B IBM plans to acquire the B2B, cloud based web properties and mobile offerings (which includes WSI,weather.com, Weather Underground and The Weather Company brand) of the Weather Company, which will further strengthen the capabilities of its Watson IoT Unit and Watson IoT Cloudplatform.
