Do these need to 2

be in synch? Does it matter that we are calling the insured on a life policy an annuitant on COM? The group decided these should be in synch. Annuitant and Insured will be separated or added where applicable. Steve Kilbon will submit the request for discussion next month (January). 2 The COM looping limit for Contract Party is 10. We have a product that allows for 10 owners and 1 insured. Would a recipient expect us to send all 11 entities on COM? (For contract parties POV is 99 and FAR is 25) The group decided to align the layouts to match POV. So the COM and FAR Contract Party records will increase to looping limit of 99. Steve Kilbon will submit the request for discussion next month (January). Steve Kilbon submitted an enhancement request with the following proposal: Update Party Looping to be in synch o Positions 13-09: 99 per 13-01 o COM 22-04: 99 per 22-01 o FAR 43-02: 99 per 43-01 Proposed Owner, Annuitant, Insured Codes POV FAR COM 3808 5030 2340 Owner HA HA HA Joint Owner JV JV JV Contingent Owner HE HE HE Owner/Annuitant or Insured OK OK OK Owner/Annuitant OK Annuitant G2 G2 G2 Joint Annuitant HC HC HC Insured PI PI PI Annuitant/Insured G2 Joint Insured JI JI JI Joint Annuitant/Insured HC Contingent Annuitant/Insured HD HD HD There was concern with changing the COM code list as the additional codes are not needed when sending commissions. Many thought only changes should be made to FAR so it aligns with POV. Firms were 3

instructed to determine if more COM code items are really needed and we will discuss again next month. The increased Party looping to 99 for COM and FAR was tentatively approved and will be voted on at the end of the September Release submission cycle. Discussion Items March 2015 Release Dates Test: Feb. 19 Prod: March 19 Removal of Web Services SSL Security Protocol DTCC is in the process of removing the SSL protocol and implementing TLS v1.0. Communication has been sent multiple times. Below is the chronological order of upcoming events: From Saturday, January 10 at 9:00 am ET until Sunday, January 11 at 3:00 pm ET all firms are strongly encouraged to log into the DTCC Portal to confirm connectivity as the TLS protocol will be temporarily in place during this time period. There is no need to test transaction capabilities during this time. On the evening of Thursday, January 15 the I&RS Web Services transactional products will be moved to TLS v1.0 in production (TLS is currently in the Test region). Firms that utilize Attachments, Fund Transfers, Values Inquiries, Withdrawals and Arrangements are encouraged to test with their business partners in the production region on the following Friday morning. On Saturday, January 24 the DTCC portal will be moved to TLS v1.0. Review Board Improvements The small working group met a couple of time in December and will continue to meet in January. Some of the changes taking place include an updated request form, a new voting process with ballot, sending the agenda with documentation a week prior to the meeting and not taking attendance to save time. An additional topic to be discussed is the possibility of increasing the number of release dates per year. Transaction Source Indicator Game Plan Rather than create a working group at this time the group decided to keep this as a standing discussion item each month and when needed a working group will be formed. Service Feature Working Group Changes 4

This was brought to remind everyone that implementation of the results of last year s working group were deferred to 2016. An invite will be sent to re start the conversation and review the changes that were proposed last year. Additional industry QLAC news Although the group decided to add a QLAC indicator to the March release I wanted to keep the conversation open on QLAC s as there may be more changes needed to record layouts in the future. During this call Gary Parent from Vertex that many QLAC s are being treated as a rider to a DIA and the PPfA will reflect that. Next Call: February 3, 2015 from 2:00pm 3:30pm ET 5
