Reporting in Forms Reporting in forms were received from: Boundary House The Gainsborough Practice Great Hollands Practice Green Meadows Surgery The Waterfield Practice Binfield apologised for not completing the form. 6. Bracknell and Ascot CCG Dr. William Tong spoke to the Assembly, it was very informative and the group thanked William for his time. Communications Team - In-house shared across the 3 East Berkshire CCG s. Clinical Support Unit (CSU) Provides back end intelligence (data analysis) and financial functions. Quality Team In-house shared across the 3 East Berkshire CCG s. Please share. Please feedback if you have seen this information at your Surgery. Attached for information. Any feedback about communications is welcomed Primary Care Not enough GP s out there, not all Doctors want to be Managers and want to spend their time seeing Patients. More Doctors are going abroad. The job is satisfying and more work needs to be done to make young doctors realised this. Students need to be made aware and encouraged to join Primary Care. Page 3 of 6
4 1. What services could come into Primary Care? For example: Physios are good at diagnosing musculoskeletal issues. Question: Could these services cope, are there enough physios? 2. Could a Patient evaluate themselves and then visit the GP once certain criteria was met? All feedback welcomed. What do you think could be done to relieve the GP s? 3. Appointments Planned and unplanned care, all member Practices should be offering a minimum of 2 weeks advance appointments. When Practices are extremely busy it has been proven that informing Patients can help reduce the strain on urgent appointments. Is your Practice? Practice Managers Public education is key to reduce usage. Extended hours service will be beginning shortly. The Assembly offered to review and comment on the comms before they are sent out. HW to let CCG Comms know 4. Pharmacists - How could pharmacist be included more? Co-Commissioning Do you want the CCG to commission Primary Care, they are well aware that clear, open and transparent governance would need to be in place. What do you think? Page 4 of 6
5 Communications Always use plain English and clearly state 1. What this is? 2. What difference it means. 3. Hard copies are very important. Assembly - Moving forward - What do you need from the CCG to become a self-governing assembly? Admin support was stated as really important. Prescribing What is your understanding of batch e-prescribing? Please let us know. Please let us know 7. Patient Representation at GP Council Cluster Working Groups To help support representatives at GP Council and enable successful representation; What is the expectation of the representatives? and how do they meet these expectations? What should a role description include? What should you/they be expecting from GP Council? Anything else? All to let us know Instead of Terms of Reference title it What s expected of me. North Cluster Patient Representation Boundary House have a representative that is interested in attending who is available to begin Dec/Jan. Page 5 of 6
6 8. Updates Following a successful recruitment drive The Waterfield Practice is holding its first (new) Patient Group meeting in October. Heath Hill are holding an event in April 2016 with New Wokingham Road Right Care Right Place. Sharps Disposal Healthwatch has been informed that sharps disposal should not be happening anywhere other than through Environmental Health. The Assembly suggested the CCG/Practices create a flyer explaining this to Patients. There was concern as to how the homeless or drug addicts could safely dispose. If this is a licencing issue is it possible for other to hold it? 9. Any other business Next meeting will be dedicated to the B&ACCG. This will be open to any member of a patient group in the area. Healthwatch will coordinate invites. Healthwatch to remind members of the meetings and request completion of reporting in forms before each meeting. 10.
