One of our Volunteer Jaime Andres Martinez was elected for the London Youth Advisory Council Thanks to the African Community Council, we have a shared office on 652 Elizabeth St 3 rd Floor Unit E, London, ON N5Y 6L3 We are proud to support YOU and four youth working in placements (one Canadian and three Latinos) Colombia Consul Lucia Madriñán and Luz Dary Madroñero, Colombia Unites us program in Toronto. To fulfill its mission: Latino Canadian Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to provide education programs and culture activities for Latino immigrants to strengthen their Canadian system knowledge and helping them to be integrated to the Canadian Society by creating opportunities for the Latino immigrants promoting and developing the Latino talent in order to become a productive individual with happy families., we developed our Family Day skating at Kinsmen Recreational Community Centre, workshops with the Auberge Francophone from Toronto about the Cultural Shock at workplace and Family rights and the men s responsibilities, the First Latino Super Festival, Culture Days, a Food Drive with Hands on Health Wellness Centres, the Reforest London partnership on Million Tree Challenge and a fundraising to support victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines.
During 2013 Latino Canadian Community hold more than one meeting or conversations per day with agencies, service providers, financial entities, potential sponsors, friends and the Latino Community. This hard work would not be possible without the tremendous effort, commitment and dedication of our volunteers who are given at least 9 hours a day in average including more than one hour a day from our Youth. To pursue our vision: Latino Canadian Community is an invaluable resource for the Latino Community and its individuals since the Latino Community is a healthy, strong, participatory and vibrant community where each Latino is proud of being Canadian., Latino Canadian Community Executive Committee had met permanently and had spent 1.6 hours in training its members and had spent one hour per day to provide support and orientation to the community in matters such as: immigration, employment, human rights, bullying, computers, London housing, computers, education, health, translation, spaces for meetings, Consulate and many others. Sponsors and partners have been a tremendous asset to help us to invest $21,000 in the Latino community not only in cultural activities and educational programs but to generate employment for our youth. Now we have members from 19 countries: Colombia, Canada, El Salvador, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina, Spain, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominican Republic, Chile, Venezuela, Haiti and Guyana. To keep the Latino Community informed, we have a broad communication system thru: websites (www.latinolondon.com & www.latino-star.com), Facebook page (LatinoCanadianCommunity), Twitter (@latino_london_c), Google + (Latino Canadian Community), YouTube (Latino Canadian Community), LinkedIn (Latino Canadian Community) and Flickr (Latino Canadian Community). Our members can access and be part of our On-Line Business Directory & websites sponsors area for free. We are one of the founders and active members of the London Multicultural Club where we are identified and committed with its principles of Our Goal is Integration, Our Strength is Diversity! as well as Where everybody is welcome. The London Multicultural Club has been in operation since 2010, but became officially incorporated this past July. The Club has already done many activities in the London community. Latino Canadian Community is proud to be a member of Pillar Non-profit Network. Latino Canadian Community next projects are to create different clubs and groups such as: Latino Seniors Club, Latino Youth Club, Latino Women Club, Latino Men Club, Latino Bowling Club and the Latino Environment Group. Latino Canadian Community next activities are: 2014 Tax Clinics, Family Day and more.
