1 Introduction The Player Web Console is a web-based console embedded in players for end users to check and modify player settings from another PC via network connections. All of the player settings need to initially follow the settings from the server but end users can modify the player settings locally if necessary. After the player settings have been updated locally, the player will need to synchronize to the server. 1.1 Purpose 1.2 Browser Support The Player Web Console currently supports Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome 2 System Administration 2.1 Login Page Remember user name Remember Password SSL login Use a SSL connection to log in. 3

2.2 Overview Page This page allows you to view summarized system information including Ethernet, server IP, player name, firmware version, current time and storage capacity usage. Server current Status Server IP: the IP address of the server the player is registered to. Server registration: If the player has been registered or not. If player has been registered, then icommander can remotely control the player. 4

2.3 System Administration 2.3.1 Basic Configuration 2.3.1.1 Player Setting Server IP/Host name: Enter a server IP or domain name. To test the Server IP/Hostname is correct, click Test. Once you have tested the connection, click Apply to start the registration process. The player will try to automatically register with isignager. Port: The default port is 5080. The player will use port 5080 to communicate with isignager. Player name: The name of the player. You can enter a memorable name to easily identify the player. Enable default layout when there is no any plan to playback. This will make the player use the default layout. You can update the default layout in icommander. Enable network download file integrity check: This will make the system scan the MD5 checksum to ensure file integrity. Enable external device file integrity check: 5

This will check the external USB devices to ensure file integrity. 2.3.1.2 Date and Time Manual setting system time Use the drop-down lists to manually set the date and time. Synchronize with an Internet time server automatically Enable this option to automatically synchronize the player s date and time with an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server. Enter the IP address/domain name of the NTP server (for example: time.nist.gov, time.windows.com) and enter the synchronization time interval. This option can only be used when the player is connected to the Internet. 6

2.3.1.3 Daylight Saving Time Use these options to adjust the system clock for daylight saving time. 2.3.1.4 Font setting Select or upload a font for use in RSS and digital clock rendering. 7

2.3.1.5 RS-232 The player can control the scheduled power settings of a public display via RS-232. Please refer the monitor manual for the RS-232 baud rate settings and try to modify the Screen_On and Screen_off HEX command separately. You can use the send button to test these settings. After you setup the monitor RS-232 commands, you can schedule the Task monitor in icommander. 2.3.2 Network A DNS (Domain Name Service) server translates a domain name (such as google.com) into an IP address (74.125.31.105). Configure the Player to obtain a DNS server address automatically or specify the IP address of a DNS server. 8

Click the edit icon to configure TCP/IP settings. Obtain the IP address settings automatically via DHCP If your network supports DHCP, select this option and the player will automatically obtain an IP address and network settings.
