REPORT ON DONATION TO NEPAL & VISIT TO EMIRATES RED CRESCENT Date of visit: 31 st May 2015 Attendees: Mr. Patrick, Mr. Andres, Mr. Biju, Mr. Chandran, Mr. Mansoor, Mr. Sumesh, Mr. Shoby, Mrs. Shija, Ms. Marife, Ms. Latacia, Mr. Arun, Mr. Vivek Timings: 10.00 am- 11.30 a.m Introduction Wan Hai Lines LTD is celebrating its 50 years of glorious anniversary this year. In this connection our Principal will be holding a number of charitable activities. One of the main activity named as Love 50- Activity of spread love charitably. Further to our recent charity activity at SNF center for special needs children, we were able to participate in Dubai Red Crescent campaign called Relief for Nepal Earth Quake. About the Activity Nepal has been hit by another major earthquake, two weeks after the devastating quake in which more than 8,000 people were killed. Aid agencies in the country have been delivering vital supplies and planning the rebuilding process, and are now on-hand to assist after the latest quake. We chose Emirates Red Crescent to help the affected in Nepal as the foundation is more reliable & their activities are so transparent. As part of the activity we have asked our colleagues to donate food items, Blankets, Clothing & Sanitary items. We are overwhelmed by the response & co-operation of our colleagues. We

ITEMS We have segregated each items & packed separately for their smooth arrangement of shipment to Nepal. On 31 st May we went to Emirates Red Crescent office in Al Rashidiya, Dubai and handed over our donation. We were able to meet the officer in charge and his good self has explained us all their activities related to Nepal relief.
Report says, Tens of thousands of Nepalese families have received help from Emirates Red Crescent since an earthquake hit the country in April. So far, the organization has spent Dh3 million supporting 26,000 families - the equivalent of about 130,000 people. and kitchen utensils. In the first phase of its aid plan, ERC provided 31,150 food parcels, 15,000 healthcare packages, 8,000 blankets, 6,600 waterproof coats, 5,000 mattresses, 9,000 items of clothing, The teams on the ground,, met with Nepal Red Cross representatives and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to discuss ways of improving the humanitarian response to the disaster. In addition to taking relief aid to tens of villages and towns around the capital, Kathmandu, ERC teams also delivered aid to hospitals in need of medical supplies. Conclusion As part of WHL 50 th Anniversary charitable activity campaign we had a chance to participate in providing much needed assistance to victims of the Nepal quakes through Emirates Red Crescent. As usual Wan Hai thus contributes to corporate social responsibility initiative engaging in traditional charitable and philanthropic giving, which highlights the culture of generosity in the society.we are always ready to help the society and people in need in best possible way we could.

As Logo says We Carry, We care About Emirates Red Crescent The Red Cresent in Dubai works works to support the official authorities in peacetimeand wartime, in accordance with the provisions of Article (26) of the First Geneva Convention of 1949. UAE Red Crescent Authority was established on 31/01/1983 and gained the international recognition as a member No.: 139 of the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross on 08/27/1986. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan took the position of the Chairman of the Board of the Red Crescent in 1986, and then took the position of the Chairman of the Authority in 1993, which gave impetus to the efforts of the human Authority. In 1997, the role of the Authority had been enhanced by the acceptance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, for the position of the honorary president of the UAE Red Crescent. In 2001, the UAE Red Crescent had been selected as the second best humanitarian Autjority at the level of the continent of Asia. The Red Crescent Branch in Dubai has played during 2009 a significant role in promoting the Authority s partnership with individuals, institutions, major national and international companies, regional and international, humanitarian organizations which take Dubai as a headquarter, besides of being Dubai as a trade center and a global economic it also became a center for humanitarian and relief services, and there are regional offices of internationalism humanitarian organizations that take Dubai as headquarter for the international Humanitarian services, it is also a destination for conferences and exhibitions related to
the humanitarian affairs and the most important of which; Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD). As the external assistances, the branch had carried out 185 development projects in 13 countries around the world, included building 56 mosques, digging 116 wells, and establishment of 6 classrooms, along with building 4 Orphanages and a number of other endowment projects. Regarding of care programs and orphanages, the branch was able during this year to sponsor 395 orphans within UAE and in a number of countries. The branch had implemented a number of activities and entertainment events for orphans within UAE; it has also distributed Eid clothing and school bag for them. the Branch had worked through its presence in the middle of this avalanche of humanitarian movements to weave a meaningful partnerships and to build it with these parties, and it form a permanent presence in all charity and humanitarian events that Dubai had witnessed, which has contributed to strengthening the capacity of the branch on the domestiv arena and mobilize support for its programs and its various activities.
