2014-2015 Packet UNT Department of Educational Psychology The Department of Educational Psychology has a number of scholarships available to students who have made exceptional progress thus far in their education or possess qualities that the department believes distinguish their abilities. The department offers scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of Development and Family Studies, Special Education, and Educational Psychology. Applicants in the Department of Educational Psychology must meet the general requirements. Please note some scholarships have additional requirements and/or more specific criteria, which are provided on page 5 of this packet: Undergraduate students must be a Development and Family Studies (DFST) major or an Interdisciplinary Studies (INDE) major seeking Special Education certification; enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours at UNT; have already completed at least 12 hours at UNT; and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Undergraduate students are required to maintain 12 hours of enrollment during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters, unless they have fewer than 24 semester hours remaining in their degree program. Graduate students must be enrolled in the Department of Educational Psychology; enrolled in a minimum of 9 hours at UNT; have already completed at least 6 hours at UNT; and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Graduate students are required to maintain 9 hours of enrollment during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters, unless they have fewer than 18 semester hours remaining in their degree program. Prepare a typed, double-spaced, 12 point font, one page essay describing your educational and professional goals, academic achievements, and financial need. 3. Please do not submit resumes, and/or other documents not specified in the application. 4. Submit the completed application and essay, as well as any scholarship-specific materials, by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2 nd. Applicants will receive an email notification by Friday, May 16 th of their scholarship awards for the 2014-2015 academic year. Students who receive a scholarship will be required to attend the College of Education Reception in September or October of 2014.
