1 2015 CENTRAL FLORIDA GATOR CLUB SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA Congratulations on your acceptance to THE University of Florida! The Central Florida Gator Club, an affiliate organization of the University of Florida s Alumni Association, is pleased to announce the offering of eight new scholarships. Six of the eight will be in the amount of $2, each for deserving high school seniors in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County who have received acceptance to the University of Florida. The seventh scholarship in the amount of $3, is reserved for the child of a University of Florida Alumni Association / CFGC member. The eighth scholarship is in the amount of $3, and will be awarded to a student who is currently in or has been accepted to a post graduate degree program at UF, holds an undergraduate degree from UF, is a member of UFAA and whose permanent residence (or parent s residence) is in Osceola, Orange or Seminole County. Please note, a degree from the University of Florida is not a requisite for Alumni membership. Many UFAA members have joined as Friends of the University. Parents who may choose to join UFAA by the application deadline would qualify their child for the larger award designated for a UFAA member. Students who are not selected for this award are then placed in consideration for one of the six scholarships awarded to nonmembers. 2 2015 APPLICATION CHECKLIST: All of the following materials must be submitted in order for your application to be considered: 1. Completed Application (follows this page) 2. An official copy of your high school transcript (for graduate students send only your most recent college transcript) 3. Proof of SAT and/or ACT scores 4. One letter of recommendation from a faculty member of your school 5. One letter of recommendation from someone outside your school 6. Proof of acceptance to the University of Florida, including UF ID # 7. Essay As concisely as possible respond to the following topics: why you selected the University of Florida your goals and plans to achieve them why you are a good candidate for our scholarship any additional information you feel will be helpful to the Scholarship Committee in consideration of your application Please mail completed application to: Central Florida Gator Club PO Box Maitland, FL Deadline for submission is March 31, Applications must be received, not postmarked, by this date. Scholarship winners will be notified on or before April 30, Please note, scholarship amounts will be divided equally between the fall and spring terms. All Scholarship proceeds will be deposited into the recipients financial accounts at the University of Florida on the date after the drop/add deadline.
