Web and New Media Coordinator (advertisement) The Biennale of Sydney is seeking a Web and New Media Coordinator, to work on the Biennale s digital assets for the 2014 exhibition, including websites, social media and enewsletters. Applications close at 5 pm on Monday, 8 July. The Biennale of Sydney is a non-profit arts organisation that presents an international festival of contemporary art (and Australia s largest contemporary art exhibition). Held every two years, the Biennale is a three-month exhibition, with an accompanying program of artist talks, performances, forums, guided tours, family days and other special events all FREE to the public. It was the first biennale to be established in the Asia-Pacific region and, alongside the Venice and São Paulo biennales and documenta, is one of the longest running exhibitions of its kind. Since its inception in 1973, the Biennale of Sydney has provided an international platform for innovative and challenging contemporary art, showcasing the work of nearly 1600 artists from over 100 countries. The successful applicant will be part of a team of highly motivated, specialist staff and play a key role in the organisation. A proven track record in producing and managing websites, creating and administering email newsletters and managing social media is required. The Web and New Media Coordinator is responsible for the overall project management of the Biennale s website, email newsletters, social media and other digital initiatives. The Biennale s online activities are designed to optimise visitor experience, drive attendance and maximise awareness of and engagement with the Biennale s activities and brand. The Web and New Media Coordinator reports directly to the Marketing Manager. The position offers the rare opportunity to work in a small team and be involved with participating Australian and international artists and visitors in the delivery of one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in the Asia-Pacific region. The position works closely with the Head of Marketing and Sponsorship, Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator, Digital Content Assistant, Public Programs and Education Manager, Public Program and Education Coordinator and the Publications Coordinator. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planning and Reporting Assist with developing online strategy, monitor web spend and report against targets Web and e-marketing Coordinate all elements of the websites and online campaigns Social Media Build and expand social media presence With the Head of Marketing and Sponsorship and Marketing Manager, oversee the website and social media strategies Ensure that online and digital initiatives are delivered within budget and according to the organisation s timeline Track campaign components against timelines and project plans Provide management team with monthly reports of website activities, online visitation, enewsletter statistics and social media engagement With the Marketing Manager, monitor spend against budget and prepare reports as required Prepare accounts for payment Project manage the development and delivery of the 2014 website (pc and mobile) and any microsites as required Work with designers, site developers and hosting companies to ensure the websites meet the organisation s technical, functional and aesthetic requirements Project manage, with Biennale consultants, a Google adwords campaign Manage the websites Content Management System (CMS) and other software, ensuring the various sites function efficiently and reliably for all users In a timely manner, regularly upload new and engaging content including: news items, photographs of artworks and events, videos and other material as required Write, source, coordinate and edit copy for websites, from both internal and external stakeholders and contribute to content in consultation with the Marketing and Public Program and Education teams Ensure copyright and image clearance and approvals for website content With the Marketing team, implement online marketing campaigns, including enewsletters, cross-promotions and social media activity Liaise with venues to develop mutually beneficial content pieces With the Marketing team, develop and deliver the Biennale s social media strategy Manage and expand the Biennale s presence and interaction in social media, ensuring there is regular, and relevant, activity on the Biennale s social media channels INFORMATION PACKAGE WEB AND NEW MEDIA COORDINATOR 5

Online and Digital Projects Project manage any online or digital projects Public Programs and Education Work on cross-over projects and production and delivery of online learning content Administration Support and maintenance of databases and software Key Performance Indicators With the Marketing Manager, scope, produce and deliver relevant digital projects such as: native mobile applications, blogs or artists projects as required Project manage digital projects as required, ensuring that they are delivered on time and on budget Work with the Public Program and Education team and Digital Content Assistant to plan, produce, upload and distribute digital content, including podcasts, vodcasts, video and images Work with the Public Program and Education team to publish online learning content such as teachers kits and other resource materials Work with the Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator and Public Program and Education Coordinator to set up and maintain an online booking system for Biennale events Maintain contacts in the Biennale s relationship database (Salesforce) and the Biennale s various subscriber lists Assist in the management of computer applications, including word processing, excel, image files and databases Successful delivery of the 2014 website and digital projects, on time and on budget Increased visitation to website Increased subscribers to enewsletter list High level of engagement and satisfaction in online communities Increased size of online communities INFORMATION PACKAGE WEB AND NEW MEDIA COORDINATOR 6

Employment Terms Contract Term This is a full-time contract position, for an 11-month period commencing August 2013. Work Hours The position is required to work full-time at five working days a week, generally 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. However, these hours may vary due to volume of work, particularly during the buildup to a Biennale where there is an expectation at varying times to work after hours, holidays and weekends. Time in lieu of overtime will be considered and will be approved at the CEO s discretion. Remuneration (a) Total remuneration package Salary (including 9.25% employer s superannuation contribution) will be discussed with potential candidates and is inclusive of all leave, overtime and allowances. (b) Leave (a) (b) (c) Superannuation As part of the total remuneration package, the Company will contribute to a complying Superannuation Fund of your choice such a percentage of your earnings as indicated in the Superannuation Guarantee Act, currently 9.25%. Annual Holiday Leave Paid Annual Holiday Leave of four (4) weeks per annum in accordance with the Annual Holidays Act (NSW) will be granted at a mutually convenient time. Long Service Leave Long service leave in accordance with the Long Service Leave Act (1955) and other applicable legislation. Personal/Carer s Leave Paid personal/carer s leave of ten (10) days per year of continuous service for reasons of personal illness or injury, or to provide care and support to a member of your immediate family or household, who requires care or support because of a personal illness or injury of the member, or where there is an unexpected emergency affecting the member. The Company will not pay out the value of any accrued but untaken personal/carer s leave on the cessation of employment or during the term of employment with the Company. (d) (e) Compassionate Leave Paid compassionate leave of two (2) days per occasion. Other Leave In certain circumstances the employee may be granted additional leave for approved study courses or other special purposes.
