Challenges With HR Transaction Case Study: Seattle Public Schools Largest K-12 school district in Washington State serving over 47,000 students in 91 schools, staff of 8,000 includes 3,100 teachers. Challenges HR data is stored in Info Types and each Info Type is an entry screen. Unneeded messages were displayed, limited ability to default data, or validate data. Staff members had to learn new functions at the same time as they were learning to use SAP. The hiring process and paper flow needed to be changed.
Return on Investment Combined fields from various Info Types in one screen, add defaults and edits, and capture unneeded messages. Reduced the number of screens from 36 to 10. Defaulted in values and provided edits to reduce errors. The change in the Hiring Action alone saves the HR department 5 hours a week during regular staffing time, more savings expected during Spring Staffing of new teachers. 22
