Bridgit conferencing Bridgit software allows the user to: Simple conferencing Connect quickly to anyone with an Internet connection share voice, video and data. You can start or join a conference at any time, right from your desktop. Desktop sharing Share desktops instantly and alternate desktop sharing. Participants can see anything you run on your desktop, such as spreadsheets, presentations or websites. Built in VoIP Hear all participants in the conference without purchasing any additional audio conference bridge or incurring long distance charges. Works with your existing microphone headset or room conference microphone. Write over desktops Highlight information by writing over a shared desktop. More than one participant can write at the same time. Remote control Take control of another participant s desktop to demonstrate a solution or provide technical assistance. Multipoint webcam support Allows participants to see video from up to four participant sites. The Department has a department wide licence and its own dedicated system for Bridgit. It is cost neutral to users within the Department. NOTE: all participants must have Bridgit on their computer. (this can be easily downloaded from the web) Equipment needed but not essential to help with conferencing: Headset with microphone Webcam. If all participants have these, it makes it easier but it can be done with telephone or videoconference equipment. To access the software click on this link http://bridgit.det.nsw.edu.au/bridgit.exe. Save it to your desk top. The following icon will appear: Double click on icon. A new dialogue box will open. Click on run. Click on create to start a Bridgit conference: Curriculum K 12 Directorate Mathematics 2
Enter appropriate names: : Select Share My Desktop Curriculum K 12 Directorate Mathematics 3
A dialogue box will sit at top of screen. Use menu to control proceeding: Select Open Mic to activate microphone. Note. If you use the in built microphone in the computer the sound will echo, use a headset with microphone. Alternatively, a speaker phone can be used to communicate. Select Menu, then Tools to either select the Pen, Highlighter, Eraser etc. Select Customise Pen to change the colour, width and transparency of the pen Curriculum K 12 Directorate Mathematics 4
Select More to choose from a range of colours Select Screen Pointer A single click, then drag the pointer, to move the pointer around the screen. To change the direction of the pointer, click and hold until two small arrows appear. Select Show/Hide Participant List Curriculum K 12 Directorate Mathematics 5
The colour of the pen will indicate who is drawing on the screen. The Send Invite option is not working. Send an email or telephone your participants to inform them of the conference name and password. If you would like other participants to share their desktop, or you would like to stop participants drawing on the desktop, select these options.
