This document has been designed to help users to download the SMART HD software onto your desktop or laptop. 2 DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS: Please click on the downloadable link provided on the NewtonIT.co.uk website. There will be a orange tab on the right hand side called Latest Client Download please click and follow the instructions below. 3 2. Click Run to start downloading the SMART Services powered by Avistar. A box will appear asking if you want to OPEN OR SAVE the file. Please click on SAVE. 3. Welcome to the Avistar C3 Client Installation Wizard The installation Wizard box will appear guiding you through the installation process, please click on NEXT at this stage of the install process.

4 4. License Agreement Please carefully read the License Agreement and click the checkbox, to accept the terms and conditions of usage. 5. Destination Folder Avistar will automatically select a preferred destination to save the license and associated files. If you have a different preferred location please click on BROWSE and select your preferred location.

5 6. Set-up will start 7. Set-up is complete Finally, the software has been installed into the selected destination. Click on finish to complete. CONTRATULATIONS, you have completed the installation of your AVISTAR software!

6 8. AVISTAR Shortcut If you look at your desktop you ll see the Avistar Icon, it will appear as a shortcut on your desktop or in your taskbar or system tray. Finally, you need to ensure that your Configuration Setting is correct. Double click the Avistar Icon and the Avistar dashboard will appear. 10. CONFIGURATION SETTING Please click on the Settings Tab, where the red arrow appears above. A menu with appear, please click on COMMUNICATIONS.

7 11. COMMUNICATIONS Sip Settings Your Sip Settings screen will appear as seen below. Some of the fields are empty and will require completing. Please use the information below and on the following page to complete your Sip Setting. 1. In the Management Center, click the Communications -> SIP button. 2. Type in the name as you would like it to be displayed to others during a call. 3. Check the box Register with SIP server. 4. Type in the SIP URI provided by Newton IT. This will be your address. 5. Type in the SIP registrar as avistar.newtonit.co.uk 6. Leave the custom port as Click the Save button at the bottom. 8. Verify that the status updates to Registered.

8 12. COMMUNICATIONS Firewall Settings 1. In the Management Center, click the Communications -> Firewall button. 2. Select the radio button Enable Avistar C3 Tunnel Firewall Traversal 3. Type in the hostname as avistar.newtonit.co.uk 4. The username is the same as the SIP URI provided by Newton IT 5. Type in the password as provided by Newton IT 6. Click the Save button at the bottom. 7. Verify that the status updates to Connected. The network type will vary depending on the firewall type.

9 13. AUDIO/VIDEO Finally, to ensure your audio and video is set correctly: 1. In the Management Center, click the Audio/Video button. 2. Select/verify the desired camera. 3. Select the preferred audio input. The recommended headset by Avistar is the Jabra GN2000 headset. 4. Select the preferred and output devices as shown below. 5. Select Cancel Audio Echo if you plan to use the mic on your webcam and your PC s laptop/ speaker (instead of headphones Your installation and configuration is now complete.
