You can add SNA management and file transfer capabilities as needed, or additional automation features, all while maintaining a common look and feel. What s New in r12 Network-Centric Application Awareness Application groups and performance specialists have a need to understand the network activity associated with a given application; network administrators need a way to triage network problems based on the business importance of applications. This new capability provides both groups the ability to mine network data as it relates directly to applications using the network, streamlining problem resolution and assisting with proactive management. This release adds network-centric tools for DB2 DBAs, programmers and to SOA and Web application developers. The tools include a DB2 for z/os Network Information Center, DB2 connection lists, DB2 Traffic displays, and DB2 tracing. PRODUCT SHEET: CA NETMASTER NETWORK MANAGEMENT FOR TCP/IP r12.0 2
APPLICATION AWARENESS IMPROVES BUSINESS SYNERGY Figure A. Viewing the network from a business perspective improves problem resolution and triage. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Awareness All Web Services calls to/from z/os are TCP/IP HTTP SOAP requests. SmartTrace has been enhanced to provide real-time packet stream viewing and analysis of any HTTP server, client, or individual connection. It can decode both HTTP and SOAP headers to make it easier to diagnose and resolve problems. Comprehensive Network Security Management CA NetMaster NM introduces the Network Security Center, which helps network administrators monitor and manage z/os IPSec environments and provides visibility into SSL/TLS TCP connections. The IPSec component provides IP filter and tunnel lists, performance monitoring, and tracing. Secured connection management provides connection lists and immediate security failure notification.
