CA Mainframe Software Manager : CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM) automates CA Compliance Manager deployment and maintenance and removes SMP/E complexities. The Software Acquisition Service enables you to easily move product installation packages and maintenance from CA Support Online directly to your mainframe environment and prepare them for installation. The Software Installation Service standardizes CA Compliance Manager installation, which includes a new, streamlined Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) method that allows CA Compliance Manager to be installed using standard utilities. This service also provides standardized SMP/E product installation and maintenance via APARs and PTFs, and simplifies SMP/E processing through an intuitive graphical user interface and an intelligent installation wizard. 2

3 The Software Deployment Service enables you to easily deploy CA Compliance Manager in your mainframe environment. CA MSM Consolidated Software Inventory (CSI) updates and infrastructure improvements add flexibility to CA MSM processing of CSIs and enable CA MSM to more effectively utilize CPU and system memory. Installation Verification Program (IVP) and Execution Verification Program (EVP): As part of qualification for inclusion in the set of mainframe products from CA Technologies released every May, CA Compliance Manager has passed stringent tests performed through the IVP and EVP to find and resolve interoperability problems prior to release. Data warehouse engine: Stores information about mainframe security events in a relational repository that is accessible for compliance reporting, allowing complex reporting processes to be initiated. It also provides real-time access to current and historical security information for forensic analysis, going beyond current reporting capabilities of security products. 3

4 Flexible alert capabilities: Provides real-time notification of potential security breaches indicated by changes in the security configuration and specific security events. Stakeholders can receive immediate notification of pertinent violations, user activity, and access or change activity to critical resources using notification, Write To Operator (WTO), or help desk ticket creation. Powerful collection components: Writes information about mainframe security events to a dedicated z/os log stream. A historical record of security events is maintained to address compliance/audit requirements and security forensics. This approach provides greater capability and is easier to use than standard log collection using SMF and file-based security journals. Web-enabled user interface: The web enabled user interface provides summary and detailed reports that answer the audit questions of Who accessed what, from where and when. For example, you can report on everything a specific user has accessed or everyone who accessed a resource due to a specific permission. Using the native security products, you control who can run the reports. In addition to reporting, the web interface is used to paint the policy statements by having the user pick fields to test and the actions to take. This eases the writing of policy by eliminating the requirement to learn another syntax.
