Welcome and Summary of Events Welcome to the Financing Community Health Worker Systems at Scale in sub- Saharan Africa workshop! It is an honor and pleasure to have with us so many distinguished guests with a plethora of expertise attending our workshop. The objective of this workshop is to support overall collaboration among African governments for Ministry of Health (MoH) led financing and resource mobilization for the development and scale- up of CHW systems within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop itself will be a three- day event. More specifically each day will focus on the following: Day 1: Modelling CHW programs at scale for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) attainment Day 2: Financing scale- up of CHW systems Day 3: Funding mechanisms This travel guide is intended to assist you throughout your stay and serve as a reference point along the way should you have any questions. Travel and Lodging Arrangements Ministerial Delegates Travel Logistics The Campaign Secretariat will be fully funding your flight, lodging, and ground transportation, in addition to reimbursing the cost of a single entry visa to Ghana (where applicable). Meal expenses will also be covered through a small travel allowance of $100 USD. Unfortunately, due to funding restrictions, we are unable to provide delegates with the respective standard per diem rates. All flights are coach seats, and participants may upgrade at their own expense with the airline using their booking reference, or during check- in at their departure airport. Please note that there is no registration fee for the workshop. Meals Lunch and two snacks per day will be provided during workshop proceedings (on 9-11 June). A ministerial dinner will also be provided on June 10 th and there will be a free shuttle from the hotel to the dinner site. Part of the $100 travel allowance is meant to cover dinners and ground transport costs not included in the workshop package. We have provided a restaurant list at the end of this travel guide to allow you to explore other meal options by taking advantage of the great restaurant life Accra has to offer.
Accommodations All lodging for Ministerial delegates will be taken care of. However, for your reference the Campaign Secretariat has blocked out rooms at the Mensvic hotel. However the cost of your ground transportation to the workshop will be covered. Frequently Asked Questions If I miss my flight, can I get reimbursed? No, the Campaign is unable to give reimbursements for missed flights. Will I receive reimbursement for out of pocket expenses? No, the Campaign cannot offer further funding beyond the travel allowance for ministerial delegates. This includes anything that is charged to the hotel room. How will I get from the airport to the hotel? The Mensvic Hotel provides a shuttle service to and from the hotel that is complimentary for hotel guests. The Campaign will coordinate shuttle service for all participants. Can I upgrade my flight or hotel? Yes, but upgrades are at the expense of the individual, not the Campaign. This includes the cost of additional baggage fees that are not complimentary of the flight. Please arrange upgrades directly with the airline using your booking reference.
Can I change the days of my flight to or from Accra? Yes, but this will also be an individual expense. Unless arranged otherwise, all flights are booked from June 8 to June 11. Please make any arrangements to change dates directly with the airline using your booking reference. What should I bring with me each day to the workshop? Notebooks and pens will be provided, but you re welcome to bring a personal laptop as well. What food will be provided during the workshop? Lunch and two snacks will be provided to all participants each day (at no expense). Is there a registration fee for the workshop? No, there is no registration fee.
