Passmore Edwards Court has been developed as an extra-care scheme. It is the first purpose built development of this type in the county and is intended for occupation by people over the age of 50 who have a care and/or support need. An extra-care scheme is ideal for someone who needs some help to manage on their own, but who doesn t need the level of care available in a residential or nursing care home. Residents have their own home, control over their finances, and privacy and choice about how much they mix with other residents. e Our schemes are spacious and modern with one or two-bedroom apartments for rent or sale and there are shared facilities which you have read about. Before you reach for the phone Passmore Edwards Court has a scheme manager who s on hand during office hours to provide practical help and support. They re trained to provide the support residents need to run their own home and live independently. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the scheme and making sure residents get the support they need. They may consult with the residents family and with voluntary and statutory agencies to make sure this happens. The scheme manager will also keep in regular contact with residents, checking that all is well, and help in emergencies. Outside office hours, our schemes have a 24-hour emergency call system, with an on-site care team to answer calls day and night.
