2015 Capital Campaign Founded in faith Driven by excellence The VISION lives on
Dear Friends: Fifty years ago, God moved in a phenomenal way when our ministry started with the vision of just a few men. We re again casting a vision for our ministry: providing older adults with options they ve never had in Logan County. And we expect God to again do amazing things. We plan to expand The Christian Village to include an assisted living Garden Villa for memory care residents and a new Rehabto-Home wing. We ll renovate Hope Hall in the nursing home to add private and semiprivate rooms, and update our independent living garden homes and apartments. We re excited to provide options that don t currently exist in our area. And you can be part of it! Participating in our Vision capital campaign is a magnificent way to make a difference in the lives of people in our community for decades to come. Won t you prayerfully consider getting involved? Jo Hilliard, Administrator The Christian Village Founded in faith - Driven by excellence
Our mission We exist to honor God by providing a continuum of excellent care and support services, primarily for older adults. Remaining faithful to our mission means providing our residents quality care in an exceptional setting. Our history Labeled a demonstration of Christian concern in brick-and-mortar terms, The Christian Nursing Home opened in 1965 with 48 beds. It was the first nursing home of what would become Christian Homes, Inc. More beds were added over the years, along with memory care. In the 1970 s, garden homes for independent residents were added, followed by senior apartments in the Congregate Building in With its diverse housing options, the name was changed to The Christian Village. Quality care Quality, compassionate care has always been the goal on the campus. As an early newsletter so appropriately explained,
The home must excel both in the quality of the nursing service it renders and in the atmosphere that is present. So often, the home atmosphere is just as important as...the quality of nursing care. Over the years, The Christian Village has been blessed by the partnership with countless people who believe in, contribute to and celebrate our extraordinary ministry. What never changes Our motivation for caring The basis of care at The Christian Village is a desire to honor God by valuing every person created in His image, regardless of his or her situation in life. Our support for every resident isn t just a job it s a calling from God. Our focus on holistic care The Christian Village remains committed to meeting our residents physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our dedicated, highlytrained staff work as a team to provide quality care. Chaplains provide Sunday services, Bible studies and words of comfort for residents and their families. Our volunteers More than 200 volunteers add another level of tender loving care for residents. They bless our Founded in faith - Driven by excellence
residents and, in turn, our residents bless them. Hugs, smiles and meaningful conversations happen every day at The Christian Village. What always changes The ways of providing excellent care We keep up with innovations in medicine, technology and living areas - all of which have changed dramatically since The Christian Village opened 50 years ago. What was a luxury becomes standard As Christian Homes first campus, The Christian Village has undergone numerous renovations to upgrade what we provide residents. The need to expand Today s residents expect excellent care and modern accommodations to meet their needs as their healthcare changes. The next chapter in our ministry To continue to meet the needs of older adults in the Lincoln area, it s vital to have new investment in The Christian Village, the only Christian senior living community here. Expansion to strengthen our ministry The Christian Village is being expanded to provide a full continuum of care for residents, which will make it the only such community
in Logan County. This will allow residents to remain on the campus even if their healthcare needs change. The Christian Village Expansion New Garden Villa New Rehab-to-Home Wing Nursing Home New Entrance Independent Living Apartments 7th Street The expansion includes several significant construction projects: an Assisted Living Garden Villa, a new Rehab-to-Home Wing, renovation of Hope Hall and a new entrance and lobby to the nursing home. 14 The Christian Homes difference Communities of compassion The Christian Village is one of 13 campuses of Christian Homes, Inc., which has senior living communities throughout the Midwest. The Christian Homes approach to every resident is relational, not institutional we are communities of compassion. Our focus goes beyond basic care. In the course of everyday life with our residents, we form endearing relationships by honoring and nurturing each of them. Our motivation for caring comes from our conviction that every person is made in the image of God and is equally valued by Him. Regardless of the resident s need failing physical health, dementia, assistance with daily tasks, rehabilitation or enjoying their retirement years while living independently all receive the same compassionate care. Ways we express our compassion The physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents are equally important. These needs include quality healthcare, a sense of community, Biblically-based encour- Founded in faith - Driven by excellence
agement and financial assistance for skilled nursing residents. We place people in the lives of our residents to provide extraordinary compassionate care. Our Christian administrators and dedicated staff treat our residents, their families and each other the way they themselves wish to be treated. Our chaplains provide Sunday services, Bible studies, memorial services and words of comfort to residents, their families and the staff. We provide excellent care for our residents and operate in a God-honoring manner. Christian Homes strives to provide best practices in healthcare, innovative technology and the up-to-date facilities residents expect. Over the years, Christian Homes has responded to the needs of older adults by expanding from skilled nursing care to independent living, assisted living, memory care and rehab-to-home. The expansion of The Christian Village will include all these offerings to allow our residents to remain on our campus even if their healthcare needs change.
