Oregon State University now allocates 10 scholarships per year to qualified Beyond LHS students who wish to attend OSU! Lebanon High School
In August 2012 Lebanon High School entered into an agreement with Linn-Benton Community College and Oregon State University. As a result, OSU has agreed to provide up to 10 scholarships to qualified Beyond LHS students wishing to attend OSU. This is an excellent opportunity for students who anticipate earning both an LHS diploma and an LBCC associate degree through Beyond LHS. A $3000 annual OSU scholarship will be provided for Beyond LHS students who are Oregon residents, meet OSU admissions requirements and have low income status as determined by completion of the FAFSA. This award is renewable for up to six terms or completion of undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. Students must also meet the following eligibility requirements to receive the scholarship: Completed application for admission submitted to OSU by February 1 (for the following fall term). Proof of an associate degree earned at LBCC and diploma earned at LHS. Cumulative LHS GPA and LBCC GPA must each be 3.25 or higher. Must have earned a B or better in Writing 121 and Math 111. At least 10 new scholarships will be awarded to new students entering OSU each fall term for the academic year. Students may qualify for additional OSU scholarships based on requirements and qualifications at the time of admission. The scholarship application process differs slightly for Standard Diploma and Expanded Diploma students. See details below. Standard Diploma Students (Four Years or less) Students who receive their LHS diploma and LBCC associate degree at the end of their fourth year (or earlier) must meet both the OSU admission requirements and the ECHS OSU Scholarship requirements noted below. OSU Admission Requirements Student applies to OSU during fourth year, at least one month prior to the start of their first term at OSU (note: by Feb. 1 st to qualify for scholarship consideration). Student applies as an incoming freshman, not as a transfer student. Students who will not immediately begin at OSU should apply as a DPP student. Requirements: High school diploma w/ graduation date prior to enrolling Required high school coursework, including 2 years of foreign language in high school or two terms from LBCC Cumulative 3.0 GPA Grades and coursework taken at LBCC will not be considered when making an admission decision SAT and/or ACT test score
ECHS OSU Scholarship A $3,000 annual scholarship will be provided for Oregon residents who meet admission requirements above and who have low income status as determined by completion of the FAFSA. Award is renewable for up to 6 terms or completion of an undergraduate degree whichever comes first. Scholars must complete 36 graded hours per academic year and maintain an institution GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students must submit the ECHS OSU Scholarship application checklist to Michele Burd at LHS by February 5, 2013. The application checklist can be found on the Beyond LHS website, the Beyond LHS office, or Mrs. Burd's office. In addition to being admissible to OSU and providing proof of their participation in the Beyond LHS program, students must also meet the following eligibility requirements to receive this scholarship: A completed OSU application for admissions submitted by February 1 (for following Fall term) Proof of Associate s degree earned at LBCC Both LHS and LBCC cumulative GPAs must be 3.25 or higher Grade of B or higher in WR 121 Grade of B or higher in MTH 111 Ten new scholarships will be awarded to new students entering OSU each Fall term for the academic year. Student is entirely enrolled at LBCC in fifth year and has met the level of an LHS Standard Diploma at the end of their fourth year, but it has not been conferred in order to allow the student to remain funded for
program. Students must meet both the OSU admission requirements and the ECHS OSU Scholarship requirements noted below. OSU Admission Student applies during fifth year, at least one month prior to their first term at OSU (note: by Feb. 1 st to qualify for scholarship consideration). Students should apply to OSU/LBCC under the Degree Partnership Program. Students will apply as either a freshman or a transfer student based on the credit hours earned at the time they are applying. Requirements: Required high school coursework, including 2 years of foreign language in high school or two terms from LBCC Cumulative 3.0 GPA Letter from LHS that student has met the level of an LHS Standard Diploma at the end of 4 th year Final high school transcript with graduation date is required at end of 5 th year once the diploma is conferred Provide SAT and/or ACT test score Students who apply to OSU and do not wish to complete their associate s degree at LBCC through this program must provide a high school transcript with a graduation date (i.e. their diploma has been conferred ) prior to enrollment in courses. Please note however, that students cannot qualify for the OSU Scholarship associated with this program without earning an associate s degree from LBCC.
