2.) Idea and Concept -- Our initiation of the development fell at the time of outlet of the German Federal solar-aid-programm - 100.000-roofs in 2003 or the following novella of the German-Renewable-Energy-Law in 2004 (EEG) -- Beside a friendly and bright architectural face we were search of an unequivocal image signal => - Lasting and environment-conscious handling with energy and row materials. -- Genius Loci => The front view of the building has an absolutely shadowless orientation to the south -- Idea => power- or heat-generation by solar energy -- First considerations and calculations of profitability showed that the seasonally different demand of heat - for a superstore excludes an economic supply and storage of solar thermal energy. -- Concentration in the second kind of solar energy => - all-year solar power by photovoltaics - Check of the existing and the planned building construction. 3.) Feasibility Analysis / Project / Realisation -- The first profit forecasts (2005) damped our euphoria of an - energy-self-supplied building (building consumption = solar return) -- From now we focalised the details of the national solar support (EEG). - With 20 years guaranteed electricity purchase and 5% degressive - payment/year; a good time for the realisation of our pilot project in 2005. -- On the southern preroof an the new glazing sloping roof - we found four efficient locations for 550 square metres of PV-modules - in 30 installation with a top achievement of approx. 70 kwp. => possible annual production approx. 58.000 kwh (forecast). - Investment estimate with a typical rule of thumb at that time : 5.000,- EUR/kWp with 70 kwp => 350.000,- EUR -- Detailed plannings in line with market requirements and economic - efficiency plannings followed in contact with three producer or suppliers. - -- Parallel the construction-sided archievements, the conditions to the investment - connection and the payment of the purchase were discussed with the - network provider. Process Of Facilities - Performance: -- 422 modules (SolarWorld AG, Typ SW 175 S je 175 Wp) = 73,85 kwp - (guaranteed level of efficiency 80% for 25 years) - => 8 per millel / p.a.) - -- Performance each year according manufacturer`s data => 62.500 kwh/p.a. -- Plausibility check with rule of thumb (North of Germany) - approx. 850 kwh/kwp multiplied with 73,85 kwp = 62.773 kwh/p.a. -- Anual achievement of the present years (2006-2008) - => approx. 71.500 kwh/p.a. - cell type: mono-crystalline silicium - - 10.02.2009 EDEKA Handelsgesellschaft Nord mbh 12

8.) Hints And Experience - During the roof-services biannual as possible parallel cleansing and maintenance of the solar-plant. - Pay attention for shadowless, best southern orientation and large connected installation surface. The plant-components should be standardised. - Use realistic efficiency analysis. Take into account the costs of management, additional expenses, subconstructions, maintenance and consider the reduction of modul-efficiency. - Currently we pursuing two projects with thin-layer-technology. Maybe with partial own consumption. The new EEG (2009) promotes own arrangements to 30 kwp with 21,01 ct/kwh. The prise for that modules are about 10% less than the silicium modules. Unfortunately, the better price ist offset by the inferior efficiency to silicium. But in other hand the thin-layer-technology works better while overcast weather. It should be mentioned that the energy balance of thin-layer-cells is four times better than to silicium. - Meanwhile four of thirteen inverter had a malfunction. Thanks to the data logger this failures were determined and immediatly the repair (guarantees) could be executed. - Does a solar-system offer an added value?
