History Saima Nigeria Limited was founded in 1980 jointly with Nigerian entrepreneurs as an international freight-forwarding, ship-owning company, shipping agent, and benefited from the experience and the international reputation built up by Saima Avandero in over two and a half centuries in the world of shipping. 3

Saima Nigeria was established in conjunction with the activities developed in the country by the Saima Avandero s Projects Division, starting in 1961. By way of references we should mention the shipments managed by Saima early in 1961 for account of Impregilo of Milan (in connection with construction of the Kainji Dam) and of Cogefar of Milan (Apapa Second Wharf Extension Project). Projects have been the core business of Saima Nigeria over the years. The utmost attention and commitment have been devoted to strategic projects for development of the country such as the hydroelectric and agricultural projects, water distribution, road-building, civil engineering works and oil and gas projects. Over the last decade Saima Nigeria has embarked on a huge investment plan, upgrading the equipment and infrastructures supporting the Company s activities, specifically inland transport, handling equipment, cargo storage and warehousing facilities, in addition to modern workshops for maintenance of the equipment. Saima Nigeria currently ranks as a major player in the forwarding and logistics business in Nigeria. 6 SEA FREIGHT

Sea freight Saima Nigeria gives Clients the benefit of the presence of its skilled staff in the main Nigerian Ports, providing careful co-ordination of operations in port and logistics connected with receipt and delivery of their cargoes. 7

Air freight Air Freight import/export activities using regular airlines and/or chartered full cargo aircraft are part of the daily activities managed by our dedicated staff. 9

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE 10

Customs clearance We operate as a Customs Agent recognized in all Nigerian ports and airports, including Free Zones. The Customs Clearing Department offers a comprehensive range of services, such as air and sea freight, FCL, LCL and break bulk, and all sorts of equipment and vehicles. 11

ROAD TRANSPORT 12

Road transport Saima Nigeria owns a modern fleet of trucks, trailers and low-loaders. The fleet is continuously upgraded by purchasing IVECO road tractors, ranging from standard to heavy-duty haulage units powered up to 540 HP, for combining with flat trailers, container carriers, coil carriers, delivery van trailers, low-loaders with ramps for loading vehicles, earth-moving machines, cranes and heavy-duty equipment weighing up to 60 tons. Maintenance of the above vehicles is carried out at our own workshops in Lagos and Onne Port. 13

Logistics and distribution In 1998 Saima Nigeria launched its Distribution Quality System. This service is performed nation-wide using specific means of transport and devices designed for the safe delivery of consumer goods. 15

Door-to-Door transport The implementation plan for Door-to-Door projects is studied jointly with Saima Avandero in order to identify the best possible solutions for transferring machinery, equipment and materials, collecting them from the production factories overseas and delivering them on site in Nigeria. 17

Oil & gas project management Saima Nigeria s most important activities definitely include the logistics services placed at the disposal of the major oil companies and of oil, gas and petrochemical industries and power plants. 19

20 HEAVY-LIFT AND OVERSIZE TRANSPORT

Heavy-lift and oversize transport Saima Nigeria is fully outfitted to meet the market demand for heavy-lift and oversize cargo operations. Our heavy-lift fleet is equipped with new modular-hydraulic units complying with the highest standards for lifting loads up to and exceeding 1000 tons. We can provide services for jacking, sliding and positioning abnormal loads. 21

Equipment and plant rental Saima Nigeria has a comprehensive fleet that ranges from pick-ups, 30 and 40 tons flat trailers capacity, 30 and 60 tons low-loaders capacity, 52 axles of new hydraulic modular trailers Goldhofer brand for meeting all sorts of transport requirements. Our equipment varies from different tonnage cranes, forklift and container handlers for spot hire or long-term leases. All our equipment is maintained in accordance with international standards and 30 tons trailers capacity are equipped with satellite tracking systems. 25

Port and inland terminal management Saima Nigeria is proud of its know-how in the field of port and terminal operations. The Company operates professionally in harbour terminals, inland terminals and private terminals. With these facilities Saima Nigeria is able to handle Clients cargo carefully, safely and professionally. 27

FREE ZONE ACTIVITIES 28

Free Zone activities Saima Nigeria is registered with the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone and has its own dedicated terminal of 35,000 square metres fully equipped for providing oil and gas operators with logistics services of all kinds and tailor-made solutions. 29

SHIPPING AGENCY SERVICES 30

Shipping agency services Saima Nigeria is licensed to operate as a shipping agent in all Nigerian ports. 31

32 WORKSHOPS

Workshops Saima Nigeria has two dedicated workshops for maintenance of its fleet, plant and equipment in accordance with international standards. These workshops are fully outfitted with modern machinery and tools enabling complete overhauling and panel beating of trucks, cranes, modules and light and heavy vehicles. 33

HSE Saima Nigeria applies a strict HSE policy and complies closely with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. Our detailed cargo and vehicle tracking systems are updated yearly as part of the Company s HSE policy. 35
