15 History In 1904 the company founders Mr Kehrli and Mr Oeler were working for a coal merchant. They observed a growing requirement for moving services that was not being fulfilled and took the brave decision to resign and found their own company. At this time there were no trucks and all of the hard work and transportation had to be done by horse and coach. In fact at the beginning they faced one especially large problem: the cost of the food for the horses! The two entrepreneurs managed not only to overcome this obstacle and grow the business but took advantage of new technologies as they came along such as the rail freight system and transport vehicles. Today, over 100 years later the company Kehrli+Oeler AG can look back on a long, successful and traditional vein of history and call themselves one of the oldest and most prestigious moving companies in the whole of Switzerland
