The work of beauty therapists and beauty consultants involves the design, delivery, sales and marketing of different types of facial and body treatments, pedicures, manicures and make-up services. Treatments are carried out both manually and using different types of equipment. Beauty therapists and beauty consultants sell skincare products, advise customers on at-home skincare and on the selection and use of skincare products. They are experts in skincare treatment, guidance and advice, and massage and make-up services. Their roles involve working with other beauty and health care professionals and with the fashion and media industries. The competition tasks are based on the requirements of the vocational qualification. The scope of the different components of the qualification is taken into consideration in the tasks.
