KEY CAPABILITIES AND SOLUTIONS: In-depth knowledge of separation equipment process design Separation system design knowledge System and equipment control expertise Detailed understanding of phenomena associated with phase separation Understanding of both theoretical and practical separation phenomena Understanding of technologies available in the market Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling expertise Separation equipment process design software licensing Project management expertise Separation equipment mechanical design knowledge R&D test loop expertise Client training 4

SOLUTIONS PTE LTD OUR SERVICES PROCESS STUDIES AND DESIGN REVIEWS Adequate separation of oil, gas, water and solids is critical to the successful operation of a production or processing facility, and so the design and selection of separation equipment such as separators and scrubbers is a key step in the execution of a project. Industry practice is for internals vendors or vessel manufacturers to design and supply separation equipment for production or processing facilities but how do you know which is the best on offer? How suitable is the design provided by the supplier and the sub-suppliers for the task at hand? This question is of the highest importance, but is a diffi cult one for project teams to answer, as their expertise understandably cannot extend to the intricacies of separation internals design. Analysing the minutiae of the design characteristics, fl ow distribution, performance, hydraulic considerations and identifying potential pit-falls in a design can only be properly achieved by those who have experience in designing these systems themselves. 5

Our services (continued) To assist this selection process, Kranji Solutions can offer independent advice in key technical areas: Design reviews Conceptual studies Separator design for FEED or detailed design phase Debottlenecking studies Our engineers will give these points the attention that they deserve, giving special awareness to the intricacies of the design, such as the fl ow distribution, performance and interactions with the upstream and downstream equipment. The great thing that Kranji Solutions can offer you above vendors is that because we do not supply hardware, we can give you impartial advice and analysis on which service is the best for you. Reducing the risk of operating issues, costly retrofi ts and equipment downtime, we will help you to make a well informed decision based on an in-depth expert assessment, saving you time and money. BENEFITS The review is independent; Kranji Solutions does not supply hardware Be able to make a well founded equipment selection based on an in-depth assessment by experts Save time (manhours) during the project phase Reduce the risk of operating issues Reduce the risk of costly retrofi ts and downtime due to equipment mal-performance Save time during project execution 6

SOLUTIONS PTE LTD TRAINING To improve your in-house knowledge base, Kranji Solutions offers training for a range of skills for anyone, ranging from management or specialist engineers to more basic courses aimed at engineers from other disciplines who have never worked with separators before. We offer both basic and advanced courses which can be tailored to meet your particular needs. BASIC SEPARATION COURSE Designed for engineers and managers who are unfamiliar with them, but work with them on a daily basis, the basic course provides a straightforward understanding of separators and separation processes. ADVANCED SEPARATION COURSE The advanced course is intended for process engineers, facility operations engineers and managers who require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of separation equipment design and operation. This course increases competence in many key areas, bringing a wealth of company benefi ts. 7

CFD Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an innovative and powerful design tool that predicts and analyses fl uid fl ow. It s a computer based engineering method of simulating and analysing fl uid fl ow and heat transfer around a design, allowing it to be aerodynamically or hydrodynamically optimised. Highly complex software is used to perform the millions of calculations required to simulate the interaction of fl uids and gases with the complex surfaces used in engineering, meaning that fl ow investigation is not limited to physical testing. Kranji have a team of highly skilled CFD engineers with a wealth of experience; most notably in the Process Engineering and Oil & Gas industries. They apply this technology to equipment already in use or still on the drawing board, improving the design to meet its key requirements. WHY CFD? Modelling and testing a design long before a physical prototype has to be constructed means a signifi cant saving in time and money, and allows problems to be identifi ed and solved before they can manifest. Made possible by advances in computer hardware and software, the design process involves: creating a 3D model of the product, applying actual operating fl ows to it and solving fundamental fl ow equations throughout the model. This means that fl uid fl ows and associated effects can be analysed in advance of hardware fabrication and any physical testing. The data output provides quantitative information on fl uid velocities, pressures, droplet behaviour and dissipation rates. This information can then be interpreted by our CFD experts who can offer their indepth knowledge to arrive at the best solutions for your company. Verify the suitablility of separation equipment designs before they are built to minimise risk and cost Determine the cause of (suspected) malperformance of separators and scrubbers Develop solutions to resolve malperformance of separation equipment Determine the effect of the motion of a moving facility (e.g. FPSO) on the behaviour of liquid in separators 8

SOLUTIONS PTE LTD WHY KRANJI Kranji apply years of expertise in the CFD process to draw reliable conclusions from the data and ensure that all the key factors are taken into account. CFD technology is highly complex and the results require specialist analysis - our engineers have a history of delivering these solutions quickly and reliably with proven results. Not only do Kranji offer a complete in-house service so you know exactly who is working for you, but as they do not supply any hardware, they will give you impartial advice and analysis. They offer high-level CFD studies, complete with reliable conclusions and recommendations - reducing the risk of operating, costly retrofi ts and equipment downtime. Reduce costs and risk Optimise current equipment Gain access to our many years of experience Independence guarantees objectivity 9

MYSEP DESIGN SOFTWARE Kranji Solutions refuses to compromise on quality, therefore we have developed our own advanced software in order to better understand and design complicated separation equipment. MySep allows users to design separators and scrubbers in detail, right down to the selection of suitable separation internals and can be used as an extension of common process modeling tools used to simulate entire flow schemes. With the output from these process simulations, each vessel can be designed in detail using MySep, enabling the user to determine vessel sizes, select internals and assess the associated overall performance of each vessel. Areas of application of MySep: CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FEED DETAILED DESIGN OPERATION Approximate vessel sizes as input to concept and layout definition and project cost estimates. Determine vessel, nozzle and upstream piping sizes. Determine liquid level settings. System optimisation by balancing the designs of interacting vessels. Specify suitable internal types. Detail out vessel and nozzle sizes. Detail out nozzle locations. Detail out internals design and layout. Verify vendor designs in detail. Verify that final design meets the performance requirements. Evaluate actual against calculated performance. Vessel rating: Determine capacity and performance for new operating conditions. Trouble shooting of exiting designs. Input to debottlenecking activities. MySep allows Kranji Solutions to take designs from conceptual designs to operations, guiding users through the design in the most efficient manner, allowing full access to the entire design at all times. Showing users key aspects of the design, for example: droplet sizes, performance and residence times, are calculated and displayed in real time, decreasing the time it takes to optimise the design. MySep also contains built in correlations for prediction of mist fractions, droplet size distribution and separation effi ciencies at the various separation stages within the vessel. 10

SOLUTIONS PTE LTD The user retains the option to override these predictions. By entering overriding values and reviewing the effect on overall performance, the user obtains insight in the sensitivity of the design. Providing a graphical as well as a numerical representation of the data, MySep makes comparing and contrasting designs and characteristics easy. Users may also view the efficiency of each step of the separation process, with a constantly updated representation of the design configuration. KEY FEATURES Vessel and Internal Types Vertical and horizontal vessels 2 & 3-phase separators Liquid-liquid separators Scrubbers, fl are knock-out drums Inlet device, mesh, vane pack, cyclones, coalescers, distribution baffl es Design Inlet piping droplet size distribution and mist fraction predictions Nozzle size recommendations Easy liquid level setting via input of height, time and volume criteria Internals selection and performance predictions 11
