HOW TO CONNECT TO FTP.TARGETANALYSIS.COM USING FILEZILLA Note: These instructions direct you to download a free secure FTP client called FileZilla. If you already use a secure client such as WS-FTP Pro or CuteFTP, you may use that instead and refer to these instructions as a guideline for your login information but please note that we only support FileZilla. 1. To download the FileZilla setup file, go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=21558 2. Select the FileZilla Client (not FileZilla Server) Download link. 3. Select the latest modified version of FileZilla (usually the first version in the list) 4. Select the FileZilla_[version_number]-win32-setup.exe link. 5. Save File Installation Once the download is complete, go to the FileZilla setup file and run it. You may accept all the default settings during the installation.
Creating a connection in FileZilla If FileZilla does not open automatically, you will need to double-click the FileZilla icon you saved to your desktop When you run FileZilla for the first time, the following window may appear. Click OK. In the Main Menu, click File > Site Manager: Please do not use the quick connect bar Click New Site.
Type Target Analytics FTP or another descriptive name as the name of the new site. You should fill in the following fields in the General tab, similar to the image below. Host: ftp.targetanalysis.com Port: 990 Protocol: FTP - File Transfer Protocol Encryption: Require implicit FTP over TLS Logon Type: Normal Username: [Your provided username] Password: [Your provided username]
Click the Transfer Settings tab and select Transfer mode: Passive Select Connect. Enter your password when prompted to log in.
A pop-up may ask if you wish to accept a secure certificate. As long as it is similar to the image below, it is safe to accept this certificate. If you never want to be prompted for this again, select Always Trust this Certificate in the lower left-hand corner. Select Accept to accept the certificate. If everything is in order, you should be connected now. The left side of FileZilla shows local files and folders (on your computer), while the right side shows files and folders on the remote/ftp site. You can download files via drag-and-drop (just drag the file you wish to download into the folder on your computer you wish to download it to). The following ports must be allowed to connect to IP address 205.139.106.16: port 990 (the Secure FTP Control Port (TLS/SSL)) and ports 2001 through 2010 (for passive data transfers).
Troubleshooting connectivity issues Please follow these steps to assist Target with troubleshooting connectivity issues: Take a screenshot of the Site Manager > General tab to show the Host, Port, Servertype, LogonType, and Username settings:
For FTP connections only: take a screenshot of the Site Manager > Transfer settings tab to show the Transfer mode: If there is an error in the Message log pane: 1. Connect to the secure FTP site so that the error is logged in the Message log pane 2. Left-click and select the log text 3. Right-click within the window and select Copy to clipboard 4. Paste this text in an e-mail to Target
Go to FileZilla > Edit > Settings > Debug page and select Debug information in message log to 4 Debug. Click OK, connect to the FTP site, and then follow the steps above to copy the message log text in an e-mail to Target.
Enable logging to a file. If you choose, you may log all FileZilla messages to a file. Enabling logging to a file will make it easier to troubleshoot issues. Run FileZilla Go to the main menu > Settings > Logging page Set the following options: (see screenshot below) Show timestamps in message log: enable/check Log to file: enable/check Filename: c:\filezilla.log Limit: 10 MB
