In 2012, SFHS adopted the ProStart curriculum. The ProStart program is a two-year curriculum designed to teach high school students the culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry. Students also have the opportunity to participate in paid internships where industry managers mentor them. The Hospitality Industry Education Foundation, which administers the ProStart Program in New Mexico, is supported in part by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation through its ProStart Initiative. Each spring, New Mexico ProStart students compete to earn a chance to advance to the National ProStart Student Invitational and to win scholarships. Prostart 1 Prostart 2 Bakery 1 Bakery 2 Fashion Design Alarm Clock Café is the student run café in the Commons that gives students the opportunity to practice skills learned in class. We serve breakfast and lunch and the proceeds pay for our program.

The SFHS Choir and its members have performed from California to Italy winning many group and solo awards. The choir is a top scorer in district and state contests and qualifies several singers a year for the highly competitive All-State Choir. They perform several concerts per year and participate in District and State festivals. The SFHS Mariachi is an intermediate/advanced group that performs in concert halls, competitions, and on the Plaza. Students have performed in the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Fest and the state competition in Portales, NM. Santa Fe High School Expeditionary Learning
Santa Fe High School Expeditionary Learning A group of six teachers formed a crew with about 50 sophomores. Two of the teachers learned about the crew model while visiting Casco Bay HS in Portland, Maine last summer. The six teachers share the 50 students and work to together to create expeditionary learning opportunities for the students as well as build relationships.

Santa Fe High School AVID AVID is a national program that was started 30 years ago. It has been at SFHS for 5 years. We graduated our first class in 2012. The mission of AVID at SFHS is to ensure that ALL students, specifically the least served students who are in the middle: Will be eligible to enroll in a four-year college Will take and complete rigorous college preparatory classes at SFHS (Advanced Placement and Honors) Will complete University of California A-G requirements Will enter mainstream activities at Santa Fe High School Will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
