piano+compositie: anne ku (china) guitaar: robert bekkers (nederland) anne ku en robert bekkers zijn met het piano gitaar duo een ongebruikelijke combinatie in de kamermuziek. al is deze traditie uit de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw bijna vergeten, met gebruik van moderne instrumenten maken robert en anne deze verrassende combinatie weer actueel. naast de oude meesters hebben robert en anne ook een uitgebreid hedendaags repertoire. sinds het huwelijk van andres segovie met de pianiste paquita is piano en gitaar als duo weer opgepakt door componisten als tedesco en ponce. naast deze en andere werken, motiveren robert en anne levende componisten om voor hen te schrijven. dit heeft al diverse nieuwe werken opgeleverd. robert en anne speelden in londen, noord-cyprus, zuid-afrika, italië, vs, spanje en treden veelvuldig op door heel nederland. graag delen zij hun verrassende en veelzijdige repertoire met hun publiek. in juni 2006 startte het duo de monumenthuisconcert serie in utrecht, om hiermee de kloof tussen de professionele musicus en liefhebbers te overbruggen.
sound installatie 5 45 min loop: inger gleditsch (norway) the interdisciplinary art residence AEOLUS took place in a mountain where the wind was always whistling and where plato is said to have imagined his utopian city magnesia. for me the landscape is more than only shape, it is also language and sound as any body. at this magnesia site I recorded my voice with the whistling of wind running through the landscape. this was a perfectly unpredictable experience which I recorded in situ. I placed the microphone in small bushes, pieces of vegetation, caves and other places, where I could find enough shelter from the wind to record the sounds of it. I improvised with my voice upon it. this became a very physical experience with a mixture of energies. I could picture the landscape from the sounds made by the wind the way it was blowing through bushes and vegetation. I wanted to imagine my body the same way - through the sounds of my voice. this work is also a reflection on dependence and independence, on different elements which are defying each other - like the landscape and the wind - and which can no longer be separeted from because they are creating each other continuously.
