THE LEAGUE RESIDENCY AT VYT Set in the Hudson Valley just 24 miles north of the cultural center of New York City, Vytlacil is a vibrant extension of the League s historic legacy. Open to the public, workshops and events at Vyt provide refreshing options in traditional approaches to art-making. Set in Vaclav Vytlacil s historic home in Rockland County, the Elizabeth V. Sullivan Gallery hosts exhibitions focusing on work by League faculty and friends. Workshops at Vyt As part of the League s robust workshop program, Vyt offers unique workshop opportunities like the rare Nude in Nature series in the summer, and Sculpture: Forged Steel, Repoussé. Every Saturday at Vyt year round, the forging workshop with James Garvey offers students rigorous engagement with the basic elements of ancient sculpture: fire, hammer, and anvil. Connect with Vyt Connect with Vyt on facebook.com/aslvyt for a closer look at Vyt, and search #VYTLACIL on Instagram. For more information, please email vytlacil@artstudentsleague.org or call 845-359-1263. The Nude in Nature Series This exciting workshop series offers artists the rare chance to work with the nude in nature. Focusing on one of the most thrilling and universal subjects in art, we challenge you to escape the stuffy studio to sketch, paint, and draw the live model au naturel amidst open sky, fresh air, and lush landscape. Intensive weekend workshops at the League are a great way to energize your studio practice. Each of the Nude in Nature sessions may be taken independently to develop your skill set, or register for a combination of workshops to broaden your approach. Offered in the warmer months, this series features unparalleled instruction with League artists Garin Baker, Naomi Campbell, Dean Hartung, Gregg Kreutz, Dan Thompson, and John Varriano. For a current schedule, see www.theartstudentsleague.org.
