PUTTING IT TO GOOD REUSE SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO A Directory of Donation Opportunities for San Juan Capistrano Residents Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Buy Recycled The City of San Juan Capistrano 2006

The City of San Juan Capistrano Putting it to Good Reuse. D onation isn t new. People have always passed along goods they no longer needed. What is new is the re-emerging awareness that waste can be a resource. Whether it s your cans and bottles being recycled into new cans and bottles, or your old computer being reused by elementary school students - your extras can become another s resource. Whenever possible, we hope you will donate to organizations that provide goods and services to those in need. By doing this, we all benefit twice: once by preventing useful materials from becoming waste, and again, by directing these materials toward building a better San Juan Capistrano and Orange County. Most organizations provide receipts for donations that may be tax deductible. Page 2

How to Use This Directory This directory provides a listing of organizations. To help you develop a donation plan, use the handy form at the bottom of this page and these step by step instructions: 1 2 3 Inventory and list the materials for donation. You may be planning a move and need to lighten your load, or your company may routinely have old office furniture or computers for donation. List everything even - materials not typically donated, as many organizations accept unusual items. Choose an organization for your donation from the Listing of Organizations. The listing of organizations gives information regarding the organization benefits, the materials they accept, their location, business hours, and whether they can pick up your donation or require delivery. Call the organization to arrange for delivery or pickup of your donation. Even if you are going to deliver your donation, it s always a good idea to call the organization. In the event that the organization no longer needs the item you wish to donate. STEP 1 STEP 2, 3, 4 Materials to be Donated How Many? Estimated Value?
