3 Zipcar in Eugene Day Trips from Eugene The rain is starting to die down and there is beauty to be seen everywhere! But what is there to do outside of Eugene? Take a look at some easy day trips. The University of Oregon utilizes the international Zipcar car sharing program which gives students have access to a vehicle when they need one. Zipcar allows students to use cars on an hourly basis so you have wheels when you need them. In order to use the service, students must register online and be approved after a driving record check. Once registered and approved, students can search for an open car and reserve their time with the vehicle. There is a membership fee, and an hourly driving rate around $8.50/hour, but gas and insurance is covered by the company. The company uses a magnetized card system for access to the vehicle and the keys will be waiting inside. It s that simple! Register, reserve, drive. Zipcar is a convenient, easy to use, transportation alternative that is great for students at the U of O. Visit their website by clicking here. Oregon Dunes: The Oregon Dunes is the largest expanse of coastal dunes in North America and you won't want to miss seeing this Oregon gem which provides for a wide array of activities including hiking, horseback riding, ATVing and paddling. The dunes stretch along the coast from Florence down to Coos Bay. For more information, Click Here. Salt Creek Falls: Salt Creek Falls is the second tallest waterfall in Oregon and is just a short drive from Eugene. The falls are easily accessible off of Highway 58, about 60 miles from Eugene. In addition to easily accessible viewpoints, there are also great hiking trails in and around the area. For more information, Click Here. PAGE 3
