Setting up your activity - Fundraisers checklist Thank you for deciding to supercharge ParalympicsGB! Your support is amazing and will help make the team the best that it can be for Rio 2016 and beyond. How to kick off your fundraising: Choose an activity. Do you want to put on a Supercharge quiz night, a bake sale with colleagues, superhero fancy dress with your friends or design your own fun event? Set a date Decide how your activity will raise funds. Will you be sponsored to take part in a challenge, or will people give you cash donations on the day? Look at our tips on collecting donations. You can create a fundraising page with MyDonate, or download our sponsorship form to collect your offline fundraising Read our tips for promoting your activity, and make sure you give people plenty of notice for them to get involved Download a supercharge poster to promote when and where your event will be taking place One size doesn t fit all with fundraising activities! Think about how you can appeal to both genders, different age groups, disabled and non-disabled supporters. If you are hosting an event, make sure that the venue is accessible for wheelchair users Have a wet weather plan! Will you be able to move your activity indoors? If not, make sure you have sensible clothing and equipment to keep you warm and dry Get crafty and make your own bunting, stickers, medals or certificates using our free easy-to-use templates to really supercharge your activity Take photos and videos as you go along. Share these with your supporters so they can see you in action, or share them with ParalympicsGB by tagging us in your social media posts. We d love to see what you re up to Say thank you. Once you have completed your activity make sure you update your supporters and let them know how it went. You might even inspire them to put on their own activity to supercharge ParalympicsGB

How to promote your event It s really important to let people know about your fundraising activity and how they can get involved whether you want them to bake a cake for your sale, sponsor you to take on a challenge, or take part in a fundraising activity at your school or workplace. How to promote your activity: Explain what the campaign is, and what it is for. Not everyone realises that we re a charity, so make sure you include the registered charity number 802385 (England/Wales) when you talk about Supercharge ParalympicsGB and the Tell people why you are involved in this campaign in particular, what inspired you to get involved, and why you chose your particular fundraising activity Write letters, emails or text messages customised for your friends, family, workplace or club. Start the ball rolling with your most generous sponsors first other people might be tempted to match their donation, or even beat it! Download a Supercharge ParalympicsGB poster Speak to your company, school or club about ways that they can support your fundraising activity. Some places will be happy to help you promote your cause, or even match your fundraising total If you re putting on an event or taking on an unusual challenge, your local media might be able to help generate interest and spread the word more widely. You can adapt the sample press release below if you re not sure what to write, and send your story to your local newspaper (their contact details should be available on their website) Print some supercharge stickers and share them with everyone that fundraises with you Mention your activity on Facebook, Twitter or other social media, and remind your supporters when your activity is about to take place. You could also include a link to your fundraising page in your email signature Say thank you! It s good to keep people posted with the results of your activity, and it might even persuade a few more people to make a donation when they see how well you ve done Your super selfie Why not upload a selfie of how you re supercharging ParalympicsGB; have you been training for a run or a cycling event, busy baking in the kitchen, organising a quiz night or planning your fancy dress day?
