MBA (Banking & Finance) FAQs related to MBA (B&F) Programme: 1) Explain briefly about MBA (Banking & Finance) programme? The MBA (Banking & Finance) programme is being offered by Manipal University, through its IMA campus. The students selected and shortlisted by ICICI Bank are admitted to 2 ½ year MBA (Banking & Finance) programme conducted in the IMA campus. Classes are conducted in the IMA campus during the first year of the programme which comprises of 2 Semesters. The students are provided with an exit option after successfully completing the first year of the MBA (Banking & Finance) programme. Such students are allowed to exit the MBA programme with a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking (PGDB). However, those students who have exercised the option to exit but wish to continue with the MBA (Banking & Finance) programme are allowed to rejoin the MBA (Banking & Finance) programme within 6 months of their completion of PGDB from IMA campus. Such students, by virtue of their being trainee Probationers working at different branches/locations of ICICI Bank will be provided their lectures and study materials online. Students who have rejoined the MBA (Banking & Finance) programme will have 1 ½ years (3 Semesters viz, III, IV & V) to complete the remaining three semesters namely the III, IV and the V with the maximum period being 30 months, excluding the option period of 6 months. 2) What are the key features of this programme? Note: Candidate resigned from ICICI bank will be dis-enrolled from MBA Programme. 4) What is the duration of the programme? MBA (Banking & Finance) programme duration is for a period of 30 months (2½ years excluding the option period of 6 months). MBA Segment Shortest possible time for completion Campus Based PGDB 12 Decision to opt 6 On-line based Component 18 Total 36 *Overall duration for completing the program is 60 months. 5) Is the programme recognized by UGC? The programme is UGC recognized and the degree will be awarded by Manipal University after the student successfully fulfils all the requirements of the University. Manipal University is a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. 6) When is the programme open for registration? The programme is open for registration twice a year. Batch start dates are 1st Aug and 1st Feb. The registration for these batches will open in June and December respectively. 7) What is the course outline and credit structure of the Online Component? The semester wise course outline, credits and the subjects are detailed below: Curriculum

The elective option in Module XI is available only to those who have completed the Credit or the Treasury electives in the Campus Component. 8) If a student who has not done these electives in Campus Component but would like to have the opportunity to opt for the same, could this be provided? One needs to understand that these modules are advanced modules on the given subject matter. It would prove difficult for one who has not undergone the base course [during the campus component] to be able to grasp, effectively learn and do justice to and clear the advanced course. Further, since the course is going to be very closely linked to the practical aspects and the work place, one will have to work on exercises / activities that are linked to what one handles on the job - only those who are in these roles therefore will be able to effectively work on the cases / activities, etc. It is for these reasons that we have not opened up Module XI to all. However, keeping the aspirations of the students to learn a specialized area from knowledge and career perspective, the students are permitted to take any one of the two specialized courses as "Audit Courses", even if they have not done the qualifying courses in the campus component. An "Audit course" would entitle the student to enroll for a course without the right to earn the credit. He will do select number of assignments and other academic activities as per the delivery plan, to earn a Course Audit Certificate. The student CGPA is not affected by the course because he does not get a grade for doing this course. 9) How much is the course fee? The total fee for the online segment of MBA (Banking and Finance) is Rs. 1, 50,000 payable in three installments of Rs. 50, 000, Rs. 50, 000 and Rs. 50, 000 at the beginning of each semester. 10) How to make fee payment?
