SPEAKER PROFILES Francesco de Ferrari, Head of PBWM, Asia Pacific, Credit Suisse Francesco de Ferrari is Managing Director and Head of Private Banking Asia Pacific for Credit Suisse, based in Singapore. Mr. de Ferrari joined Credit Suisse in 2002. Before taking on his present role, he was Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse Private Banking in Italy. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer for Private Banking Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in Zurich and country Chief Operating Officer in Italy. Mr. de Ferrari started his professional career in 1990 and has worked in a number of blue chip companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Nestlé and McKinsey. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, he founded and led three different entrepreneurial ventures. Mr. de Ferrari holds a degree in Economics and International Business from the NYU Stern School of business and an MBA from INSEAD. He is married and has five children. Ian Cornwall, Director of Regulation, Wealth Association Ian has almost 30 years experience as a risk and compliance professional. He started his regulatory career in 1986 with the Surveillance Division of the London Stock Exchange which evolved into The Securities Association, which regulated stockbrokers, where he was a senior manager. He spent many years as a main board members and Compliance Director of one of the largest private client investment managers and stockbrokers in the UK. His role at the WMA entails constant contact with the UK regulator, the FCA at all levels and other organizations such as HM Treasury, Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. He is involved all areas of policy development and provides regulatory support to WMA s member firms. Ian is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Wealth Manager. He is a member of the examination panel for the Applied Wealth paper which is a constituent of the CISI Masters in Wealth and sits on the Committee overseeing CISI s role as an Accredited Body. In 2009 he was voted by his peers Compliance Personality of the Year. Kelvin Tay, Managing Director, Regional Chief Investment Officer, Southern APAC, UBS Kelvin is a key member of the UBS Global Emerging Markets Investment Committee, as well as the Asia-Pacific Investment Committee where he provides strategic research and inputs to the investment and asset allocation process, across asset classes. Based in Singapore, Kelvin joined UBS Wealth Asia in April 2006 and was deputy head of P&S Consulting (Southeast Asia), where he helped clients structure investment portfolios based on asset allocation. Prior to joining UBS, Kelvin worked at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth (Asia) as the Asian & European Equity Strategist responsible for Asian & European equity selection. In addition, he managed an Asian equities portfolio and was also responsible for funds research. From 2002 to 2004, Kelvin was a Regional Telecoms Analyst with JPMorgan Chase where he was consistently one of the top 3 rated regional telecoms analysts in surveys including those of AsiaMoney and Institutional Investor. 5
SPEAKER PROFILES Chris Rezek, Senior Expert Consultant, McKinsey & Company Chris Rezek is a Senior Expert Consultant with McKinsey & Company in Boston. He co-leads McKinsey's technology risk and cyber security practices globally and drives the firm's work on information technology risk management and cyber security maturity for enterprises, and IT risk and security technology market strategy for technology firms. He has a B.S. from MIT and an M.B.A. from Yale. Publications include Beyond Cybersecurity: Protecting Your Digital Business Hardcover (2015). Jullie Kan, Managing Director and Vice Chairman, Private Banking, Southeast Asia, Credit Suisse Jullie Kan is a Managing Director and Vice Chairman for Private Banking Southeast Asia. In this role, she provides senior client coverage of ultra-high-net worth and key clients across the main Southeast Asia markets, particularly in Malaysia, and acts as a Senior Advisor on talent development matters including recruitment, on-boarding and mentoring of senior banking talent across Southeast Asia. She is also Private Banking Asia Pacific s Senior Advisor for the bank s Grow Your Own initiatives, such as campus recruiting and Global Train To Relationship Manager programs, that aim to attract promising young professionals into the bank and nurture them through formal training programs to become relationship managers. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Ms. Kan was a longstanding member of Deutsche Bank Malaysia's senior management team, having worked for the bank for 23 years in a number of senior positions, including Market Head of Malaysia Private Banking and Head of Financial Institutions in Malaysia. She also served as a member of the Credit Committee and Asset and Liability Committee at Deutsche Bank Malaysia. John Paterson, Head of Talent Development, Asia Pacific, Credit Suisse As Director and Head of the Credit Suisse Talent Development APAC, John is also the leading Learning and Development Advisor, and the Head of the Private Banking Institute in Asia Pacific. He has successfully led the implementation of several key initiatives, including the rollout of the Global Frontline Training, which is an internal certification covering both the client-facing and technical skills for all client-facing private bankers in Asia Pacific. John has over 25 years of experience in financial services sales and marketing, having held several senior sales management roles with major bluechip financial services organizations in the UK and in Asia. John started his career as a sales consultant before rising rapidly to Sales Director at the tender age of 38. He then went on to develop the wealth management business for the Royal Bank of Scotland driving their productivity from almost zero to 78 million annual production within ten years and making them one of the most profitable companies in the industry. 6
