Laboratory Technologies, Inc. Multi-Wiper Time Saving Multiple Detector Wipe Counter

Features Wipe test sets In-vitro tests Patient library Isotope library AutoSpect efficiency correction Advanced 4096-channel MCA Automatic calibration with Cs137 or Co57 Compact and economical

Wipe Set Library The Multi-Wiper software has been designed to allow you to customize and suit your individual needs. You can program and store up to 16 separate wipe sets. Within each wipe set you may have up to 16 different locations. That is a total of 256 individual wipes which may be programmed into the system for ease of use in record keeping. General Set Shown

Choose the isotopes you wish to look for, or run a wide window scan, and the Multi- Wiper will automatically identify and flag any wipes which exceed your triggers. General Set Shown The wipe test report is designed to make your RSO and regulatory inspectors happy; all the necessary information is on the report. All results can be reported in DPM. When a wipe exceeds trigger, it is clearly flagged, along with identification of the possible isotopes present.

Save three full work days a year! 10 Well Multi-Wiper 5 Well Multi-Wiper Traditional 1 Well Counter Over the course of a fiveyear period, you will spend over 135 hours (16.8 work days) counting wipes with a single-well counter--but only 13.5 hours if you use a tendetector Multi-Wiper! Weekly Monthly Annually Minutes spent counting wipe tests, assuming 30 wipes per run, one run/week.

In-vitro Tests Schilling, Plasma Volume, Red Cell Mass, GFR and CPM are all built-in and ready to run. All calculations are automatic; comprehensive reports are generated and can be customized with patient data from the Patient Library. Patient reports are concise and easy to read. Results are displayed, along with all pertinent patient data. Reports include ample space to make additional notes as desired.

Patient Library The Patient Library feature in the Multi-Wiper is designed as a short-term storage for developing customized patient test reports. Up to 32 patients may be stored in the library. Once the patient data has been entered, it works in harmony with the in-vitro tests. Suppose you want to run a GFR on John Doe. Choose In-vitro Tests from the Main Menu, then select GFR. You may then instruct the instrument to choose a patient from the library, and then select John Doe. You proceed to run the test as usual, and the test report prints out customized results which are specific to John Doe, using all the associated information you entered. No separate computer is needed for customized patient reporting.

Isotope Library Up to 30 different isotopes may be programmed. The standard nuclear medicine isotopes are pre-programmed. Energy windows are configurable from 0 to 1 MEV. To generate wipe test results in DPM, obviously the counter needs to know the efficiency of any isotope used. The Multi- Wiper offers 3 different ways to determine efficiency: 1) measure from a calibrated source, 2) enter an estimated efficiency, 3) use the exclusive AutoSpect feature to determine efficiency for any gamma-emitting isotope. Our unique crystal design has greater mass below the well for increased stopping power and greater efficiency. E-Lead technology eliminates well-to-well crosstalk. The combination of these features makes the Multi-Wiper a great choice for P.E.T. facilities. Na22 Shown (511 KEV Peak)

AutoSpect Efficiency Correction Cs137 spectrum shown raw Cs137 spectrum shown with correction applied AutoSpect automatically corrects for efficiency across the energy range. This provides for highly accurate spectral plotting not achieved with conventional techniques. Plus, by adjusting for the photon abundance, accurate DPM results may be achieved for wipe tests -- without needing expensive calibrated sources!

Multi-Channel Analyzer At the heart of Multi-Wiper's electronics is a powerful 4096 (12-bit) analyzer. The MCA scans all wells simultaneously, so that you get complete spectrum information for all patient and wipe test samples counted. Beyond just wipe test and in-vitro tests, you have the ability to count any unknown sample to analyze its spectrum and determine its absolute activity (DPM). Or, you can run a sample through the wipe test mode and identify the contents. Beyond the routine, the Multi-Wiper can be used for things such as contamination analysis in the event of a nuclear accident. 4096 channels provide unsurpassed spectral resolution to give you the most accurate plots available. Automatic Detector Gain Calibration Using its powerful multi-channel analyzer, the Multi-Wiper has an automatic calibration routine which will adjust the gain of each well according to either the Cs137 or Co57 spectrum. One of the benefits of the auto-calibration is that it is NOT necessary to re-calibrate the unit on a regular basis. Unlike older designs, there is very little drift in the detectors. For daily Q.C., you only need to run a quick efficiency check to make certain that the calibration factors in place are still accurate and that the instrument is functioning properly. The efficiency check quickly determines whether or not any drift has occurred and, if so, informs the operator that they should run an actual calibration. It provides a fast and simple way to monitor system performance without the hassle and time of running a complete calibration every day. Time savings, labor savings, high reliability and accuracy are the hallmarks of the Multi-Wiper.

Compact and Economical The Multi-Wiper incorporates state of the art technology. Using high density electronics tremendously reduces the number of components on the circuit board. Fewer components leads to long-term reliability. This approach gives the Multi- Wiper a single board design, eliminating much of the wiring and connectors found in other designs. We used our 25+ years of experience in nuclear instrument design to make the Multi-Wiper a counter you can rely on for many, many years. Being only 20 inches (50 cm) long and 13.5 inches (34 cm) tall, the Multi-Wiper will easily find its place in your department.
