2.0 Background Integracom Training Solutions is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is scoped to deliver professional training and consultancy services to the Security, Digital Reception Technology and Telecommunications industries in Australia, areas identified as suffering a current national Skills Shortage. As an RTO under the Australian Department of Education and training, Integracom are scoped to deliver a range of courses which are applicable and in line with the Department of Immigration s requirements for a technician to apply to the Trades Recognition Authority (TRA) or VET Assess to have their skills recognised. Technical industries in Australia are broken up into the following areas: 1. High Voltage HV Transmission (i) Linesman 2. Low Voltage 240 Volts AC domestic voltages (i) Electricians 3. Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Less than 60 volts DC or 42.4 Voltas AC (i) Telecommunications Technicians (ii) Electronic Security Installers (iii) Satellite and Antenna Installers All these areas are highly regulated with penalties for technicians who work without the correct licenses. Integracom recognises that most countries do not have such a strong regulatory environment and as such there are no formal qualifications in the ELV area that can be mapped directly to Australian qualifications. To facilitate this Integracom have now entered into a joint venture with Wood Communications in Dublin allowing Wood Communications to deliver Integracom Courses and to provide bridging courses from European qualifications such as City & Guilds to Australian Qualifications. Integracom will be going into a similar arrangement with a provider in the UK later this year (2012). 2 Projects in Australia June 2012 Australia is currently getting ready for two major technological changes. These are the introduction of the National Broadband Network (NBN) and the analog to digital TV migration. 1. National Broadband Network. Over 11,000,000 homes are to be cabled with an optical fibre cable over the next 8 years averaging 4000 per day. There will be an additional requirement for up to 40,000 satellites to be installed as part of the roll out. This project is currently in its start up phase and is expected to require up to 17,000 technicians nationally. 2. Digital to Analogue Migration In December 2013 all analogue transmitters associated with TV distribution will be switched off as all areas will be covered by a digital signal. Currently over 36,000 satellite dishes need to be installed by next year. Integracom Management Group 2012 5

2.2 Integracom delivers the following applicable Certificate course: Certificate III in Telecommunications ICT30210 This course are mapped to ASRI code 342414 1. Previous ASCO Code 4316-11 General Communications Tradesperson. 2. Previous ASCO Code 4316-01 Communications Tradesperson Supervisor Australia has a very strong regulatory environment that mandates WHO can work on a telecommunications network and WHAT can be connected to that network. In order to work on a telecommunications network you require a cabling Registration as a minimum. This is a mandatory Requirement. Each year Telecommunications and Security technicians arrive in Australia from Ireland and the UK with little knowledge and understanding relating to how the regulatory system works. Most find out to late that it is not only illegal to work without the correct cabling license which can result in a fine up to $13,200.00 but it is impossible to gain employment in the Telecommunications, MATV (satellite and Antennas) or Electronic Security industries without a cabling license. Carl Holmes who is the Executive Director of the Integracom Management Group is originally from Dublin, Ireland and has not only been through this process himself but has guided numerous technicians through this minefield, helping them to get back on their career paths in Australia. In many cases a technician migrating to Australia can start self studying in their country of residence. This reduces the time they need to spend in a classroom when they get to Australia and also enables them to start work as soon as possible upon arrival. For technicians who want to acquire their qualifications prior to arriving into Australia Integracom are now offering a range of Australian recognised training courses in Ireland and the UK which will commence in August 2012. Acquiring these qualifications before entering Australia has some major advantages: 1. For technicians wishing to enter Australia on a 12 month working holiday or on a 457 sponsored Visa acquiring the qualifications beforehand will increase their chances of either gaining employment or securing a sponsored position with a 457 approved company. 2. For technicians wishing to emigrate to Australia on a permanent residency Visa acquiring the qualifications beforehand will increase their chances of acceptance and speed up the process of skill evaluation with either the TRA or VET Assess. Integracom offer a range of short courses or units that eventually lead into a Certificate III in Telecommunications ICT30210. The courses are as follows: 1. ICTCBL2137A ACMA Open Cabling License (Mandatory) 2. ICTCBL3009A Structured Cabling Systems (Mandatory) 3. ICTCBL3010A Optical fibre cable (Mandatory) 4.
