Updating your Outlook Profile The following steps will allow you to remove your existing mail profile and update Outlook with your new mailbox. Note: Remember to follow the two steps before this: 1. Login to OWA to verify your mailbox: https://mail.ictgrp.net/owa 2. Update Outlook run Update Tool to Remove Old Mailbox Note: Any security warnings from your web browser can be safely ignored. This is due to our update process running an executable file format from the Internet. 1. Open Internet Explorer and visit the following web link: https://www.jvdriver.com/portals/7/misc/delete_profile.exe 2. You will see a prompt asking to Run or Save the file. Message varies according to web browser: Chrome may exhibit a slightly different security message. You should approve any warnings. 3. Choose to Save As to your Desktop. If you have SmartScreen filtering turned on within Internet Explorer (or the equivalent in Firefox and Chrome), please allow the security prompt to download to your desktop: 4. Save the file delete_profile.exe to your desktop, and double click the file. 5. You will now see a pop-up, reminding that you should have logged into OWA first and backed up Outlook settings. It also gives you an escalation procedure if you encounter issues:
The screen will quickly flash, but no further information will be displayed. You can verify that your old mail profile is removed, by going to Start/Control Panel/Mail and launching the Mail applet. There should be nothing listed. Now you are ready to discover your new mailbox! Your email data has already been copied. Follow the steps below. Update Outlook - Discover New Mailbox 6. Open Outlook and be patient. Your settings will automatically be discovered, but it may take a few minutes. Outlook always uses your Windows logon password: you should never be prompted for a password unless you have manually set this up. (You may be prompted for your password the first time only). When your Inbox appears, you will see a pop-up telling you that your mailbox is being prepared.
Depending on the size of your mailbox, it may take a couple of hours for all of your data to be synced; this is due to a Cached Copy being made available for you offline.
Problems Escalation Procedure Don t Panic! If you can t get Outlook working, don t worry we re here to help and will respond promptly. You will not lose any email data. 1. Login to your new mailbox in OWA: https://mail.ictgrp.net/owa 2. Send the migration team an email: emailhelp@ictgrp.net 3. Put Outlook Update Failure in the Subject Line: - Include as much detail as possible - Critical issues will be responded to first - Use OWA to send and receive email if Outlook is offline - Please be patient: we will respond a.s.a.p. Critical means you cannot get Outlook configured i.e. it is unusable. Questions on how to customize Outlook settings are secondary in our Escalation criteria. Responses will be based on the severity of the issue, so please include as much detail as possible to better assist you. Finally Customize your Settings! Setup Outlook the way you want it. At a minimum ensure your Corporate email signature is updated and turn on your Spell Checker. Any previous Signature files are still present on the computer and simply need to be re-selected within the File/Options/Mail/Signatures menu. This is shown on the next page.
