THE TYPICAL DEAL SIZE (OR HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN MAKE!) All cloud deals provide exceptional opportunities for stickiness and growth. As your clients add more and more users, applications, data and multi-site replication, a $5,000 per month cloud could easily grow to $20,000 per month. $ Basic Cloud (Starting at $3,000 to $5,000/mo) Single production site Usually three or fewer business applications For companies with no or small IT staff Allows companies to focus on business Could be used for marketing campaigns or a DR secondary site Security Not all clouds are the same but to understand scope, here are some sample clouds: Fully managed and designed-to-fit Enterprise Cloud (Starting at $35,000 to $75,000/mo) Multiple applications and possibly multiple locations Disaster recovery/ business continuity options High security (intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, DDoS mitigation) Compliance (HIPAA, PCI, SSAE 16) Departmental Cloud (Starting at $15,000 to $25,000/mo) Multiple applications and possibly multiple locations Disaster recovery / business continuity options High security Compliance (HIPAA, PCI, SSAE 16) RPO: 2 hrs/ RTO: 8 hrs Fully managed and designed-to-fit Full redundancy (load balancing, firewalls, switches) 10gbs networking High Performance enterprise gear RPO: 15 minutes / RTO: 1 hrs Fully managed and designed-to-fit

CASE STUDY: BLACKSTONE TECHNOLOGY GROUP IN THE WORDS OF RAKESH AGRAWAL: THREE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE UNITEDLAYER AND THEIR OFFERINGS ARE AGILE, RESPONSIVE AND ENTERPRISE- GRADE. CLIENT OVERVIEW Blackstone Technology Group is a global IT and business consulting firm headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Blackstone s Oracle-based SaaS application called Trellis is a comprehensive and highperformance solution designed for the natural gas transportation management industry. THE CHALLENGE: TRANSITIONING TO THE CLOUD The goal of Blackstone Technology Group was to assist their clients large-scale conglomerates in the natural oil and gas industry to transition from onpremise networks to a managed hosting environment. Blackstone s clients required a company that could assure maximum uptime and optimum security, in addition to 15-minute RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and 2-hour RTO (Recovery Time Objective). According to Chief EVP Rakesh Agrawal, The business is 24/7. The commodity has to flow through the pipelines to various different storage fields and gathering fields, so it has to be up and running all the time. THE SOLUTION: HIGHLY SECURED AND HIGHLY AVAILABLE PRIVATE CLOUD UNITEDLAYER SOLUTIONS: Enterprise Private Cloud (Oracle DB/VMs, Firewalls, Load Balancers SAN Storage) Enterprise High Availability (RPO: 15 minutes; RTO: 2 hours) Enterprise Disaster Recovery (Multiple locations) UnitedLayer was able to meet the requirements of Blackstone in every way. Blackstone chose to work through UnitedLayer s Las Vegas data center because of its convenient location and proximity. The firewalls established by UnitedLayer assured Blackstone s clients that their data would be highly secured and safe. Blackstone performed a comprehensive security audit to ensure that all of UnitedLayer s security protocols and processes met Blackstone s security standards. UnitedLayer worked closely with Blackstone to establish infrastructure services that remained up and running consistently.

CASE STUDY: INSPYRUS CLIENT OVERVIEW Inspyrus provides invoice automation systems for small, medium, and large global enterprises, with a particular emphasis on clients utilizing ERP (enterprise resource planning) software. THE CHALLENGE: RACKSPACE WASN T PROVIDING THE SERVICE INSPYRUS NEEDED One of the greatest concerns of Inspyrus and their customer base is security. As an invoice automation specialist, Inspyrus requires a secure hosting provider. Information typically flows from their hosted data center to their customer s data center, so security of that data is an absolute necessity. When Inspyrus management began looking for a hosting provider, they were seeking a company that would provide the security that was essential in their business, as well as an entity that had name recognition and several years of experience. They chose Rackspace. For the first several months, Inspyrus was pleased with the service they received from Rackspace. But that situation soon changed. Over time, the customer service provided by Rackspace deteriorated. After submitting a customer service request, the staff at Inspyrus would sometimes have to wait days before Rackspace would respond. For obvious reasons, this situation was unacceptable. With respect to their initial choice of Rackspace as a hosting provider, Inspyrus CEO Nilay Banker says, In hindsight, we should have done due diligence and really looked at what our specific needs were and whether Rackspace could address our needs. THE SOLUTION: A FLEXIBLE TEAM TO MEET INSPYRUS CHANGING NEEDS UNITEDLAYER SOLUTIONS: Enterprise Private Cloud (Firewalls, SAN Storage, Site-to-Site VPNs, Windows AD) Enterprise Disaster Recovery Inspyrus management knew it was time to make a change in their hosting provider. They chose UnitedLayer for several different reasons: UnitedLayer provided customized solutions and offered Inspyrus the flexibility they required; UnitedLayer experts worked hand-in-hand with Inspyrus staff to connect their data centers into a more cohesive arrangement; UnitedLayer provided the ability to quickly modify their original architecture to suit the needs of Inspyrus and their clients; and the professionals at UnitedLayer were eager to work as partners with Inspyrus to do whatever it would take to achieve the best solution for Inspyrus According to Nilay Banker, That s the kind of hands-on partnership we were looking for, and we got it through UnitedLayer.
