Sub Title Sub Title Guidelines for deployment 1. Utilization is designed for patients that exceed 182 kilograms (400 pounds). 2. The requesting agency maintains responsibility for primary patient care. 3. The requesting agency provides any additional support required. 4. Bariatric patient scenes require a minimum of six personnel. 5. Destination management should be considered to avoid double transportation. 6. Returning crews to their service area is the responsibility of the requesting service. 7. The requesting agency will be invoiced at rates approved by Alberta Health. 8. An information package will be provided on-line or via e-mail to all regional staff. 9. Supplemental training will be provided to the Bariatric Response Team. 3

CHR has a Bariatric stretcher, but not the Mac Lift. The MAC Lift First of it s kind in Canada Other options include winch and cable with bulky ramps. Medic 3 is the only ambulance to have this lift system.
