The Print, Design & Marketing Awards are designed to acknowledge print companies that embrace quality and creativity in production. We will be looking to honour not just the work that print companies do for their customers, but also the work they and their partners do for themselves the marketing activity, both printed and digital, that is helping to drive their businesses forward. By highlighting the best marketing collateral, websites and social media activity that printing companies in the UK are running, we also hope to further the spread of good marketing practice throughout the printing industry, and help businesses within the industry to become stronger and more relevant in today s market. While the Marketing Awards will give weight to the business impact of printers own marketing activity, the Print & Design Awards focus on quality and creativity in print production and design. The awards are open to printers of all disciplines offset, digital or other processes and will be assessed by an independent panel of judges. How to enter There are 16 categories available to enter as well as a Supreme award. Just complete an entry form for each item you submit. Multiple entries for one category from companies are allowed, as are entries for more than one award. Entry for Print & Design Awards Please provide three* examples of the job you are entering PER CATEGORY, along with a concise description of the job and any supportive documentation. A separate entry form is required for each entry. Photocopies are acceptable. Entry for Marketing Awards All entry forms must be accompanied by a sample of the campaign (or colour images for the Best use of social media and Best website categories). Please include as much supporting information as possible, especially for the non-print categories, in order for the judges to make their decision. NOTE: We are unable to return entries except by prior arrangement, in which case we would ask you to cover any postage costs. Payment Submit up to three entries per category FREE OF CHARGE. For all subsequent entries, a charge of 25 per entry will be required. Payment must be made by cheque, payable to Whitmar Publications Ltd, with the entries. The winners & presentations The judging panel is formed of independent industry experts and nominated fi nalists will be announced prior to the awards. The winners will be presented with their award by the category sponsor. The awards presentations will be held on the 30 June 2016 on the Silver Sturgeon, the River Thames, London. A limited number of tables and booths are available, tables of 10 at 2300 +VAT, booths of 6 at 1410 +VAT and individual places 235 +VAT. The decision of the judges is fi nal and no correspondence will be entered into. 2. Entrants must have obtained the permission of their customer before entering the competition. 3. Whitmar Publications cannot accept responsibility for entries submitted. 4. Whitmar Publications reserves the right to use any entries received for marketing and promotional purposes in its magazines and on its websites. *Unless pre-agreed by the organiser.

Print & Design Awards Check all relevant sections of the entry form are fully completed e.g. category ticked, job details, contact details and permission from your customer if applicable. A separate entry form is completed for each entry (photocopies are allowed). All entries have been produced in the 12 months prior to 29 April 2016. Submit three samples of the job you are entering (unless pre-agreed by the organiser). The entry and sample are clearly labelled. Include a concise description of the job and any supportive documentation for each entry (photocopies are acceptable). Permission from the customer (box ticked on the reverse of entry form). Payment included (if applicable) EACH ENTRY MUST HAVE A COMPLETED ENTRY FORM Marketing Awards All relevant sections of the entry form are fully completed e.g. category ticked, job details and contact details. Categories and criteria The Print & Design categories will be judged on the following criteria: Overall, the judges are looking for quality, creativity and innovation. Please include supporting information outlining benefi ts and equipment/materials used in the production. Judges will look at two main criteria: 1. Technical print and fi nishing quality. 2. Creativity and innovative use of design. Print & Design categories (please tick) Best cross media campaign A cross media campaign that benefi ts the customer by using print as part of an integrated multimedia campaign. Books and booklets To include: soft back books and booklets, whether perfect bound or saddle stitched. Creative use of substrates Examples of how the choice and creative usage of a substrate has helped to shape a print job, where the substrate complements good use of print, design and fi nishing. Direct mail To include: leafl ets, brochures, transactional documents and mail campaigns. Environmental/recycled paper A printed piece that has been produced to high environmental standards across its entire lifecycle. Finishing To include: high quality and innovation in the use of fi nishing processes. Graphic design A printed piece from any sector of the market that demonstrates real creativity, imagination and clarity of presentation for the recipient. Hardback books incorporating photobooks To include: perfect bound hard cased books and photobooks. Hybrid/combination print A printed piece produced using a mix of digital and analogue printing processes, in particular where digital print is used for variable data, personalisation and versioning purposes to augment a litho job. Magazines and catalogues Judges will be looking at aspects such as quality of production, logistical excellence, and additional services that assist the development of new publishing models for the customer. Report and accounts To include: report and accounts, company reports and fi nancial reports. Special effects including varnishes, foiling and raised effects A piece that really stands out from the crowd! The winning entry will heap beauty and creativity onto the inherent tactile nature of print and paper, enhancing the design and delivering a stunning piece of print. Please complete. Job name... The Marketing categories will be judged on the following criteria: Overall, the judges are looking for clear marketing strategy, quality in execution, and impact on business performance and results. Please note: The marketing categories are for your own campaigns, not for work undertaken for your customers. Marketing categories (please tick) Best printed marketing collateral High quality print production, originality in messaging and design, use of variable data and personalisation, contribution to growing the business all of these may factor in the standout piece of printed marketing collateral. Best use of social media Social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have become key channels for engaging with customers. The winner will have found their voice through social media, and will preside over a fl ourishing community that s eager for great ideas and content. Best website A promotional and/or e-commercial website that displays clarity of information and navigation, high quality content, and fresh and creative ways to interact with the customer across digital channels. Best use of cross media A marketing campaign by a printer that synthesises multiple channels to promote its services. This can, but need not, include print as part of the marketing mix. Creativity across multi-media is important but evidence of ROI and positive impact on the business will be necessary. Please complete relevant sections of the form below. Job name...
