Cornerstone Chapel Holiday Edition
great God has a plan! ^ by: Pastor Mark Giaimo There s a great verse in Jeremiah where God is speaking hope over his people. Because of that, I ve always loved this verse and often quoted it for myself and others. After our recent decision to follow God s call to come back to Cornerstone Chapel, I started quoting this verse for our church. I said it like this: "For I know the plans I have for Cornerstone Chapel, declares the Lord, "plans to prosper Cornerstone and not to harm Cornerstone, plans to give Cornerstone hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 This verse is so encouraging because it s saying that God has a plan for our church. We may have plans, but God s plans are way better. He knows what He s doing, and it s all good. Not only does He know what He s doing, but He knows all the important details that go along with His plan, like the who, when, where, why and how. We don t know all the details yet, but God s in the details and He s revealing exactly what we need to know in His perfect timing. So we continue to look to Him with hopeful anticipation, trusting Him that He s not done with any of us yet. With that said, I want to say that Deb and I, and our kids, are so excited about coming back to Cornerstone. We count it an extremely high honor and privilege to be the ones to receive the passing of the baton of leadership from a couple whom we dearly love, honor and respect, Pastor Jeff and Mary Jane. With the Lord s help, they started, grew and led this church faithfully for 30 years. We were blessed to have been able to serve alongside of them for a number of years in the past. Now we have a wonderful opportunity to heed God s call and partner again with this amazing congregation to move into the next chapter that God has for Cornerstone. God has a great plan for us, Cornerstone! Let s hop on board God s plan and enjoy where He s leading us. For this we can be sure: In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9 Love ya, and looking forward to our future! Pastor Mark will be appointed as Lead Pastor of Cornerstone Chapel on January 1, 2015. He is a gifted teacher who brings inspiring, relevant, & simple lessons from the Bible every week. Mark has served in various roles in churches such as Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, Intern Program Director, & Associate Pastor - including 8 years previously on staff here at Cornerstone Chapel. He is known for his creative illustrations, energy and passion for the Word of God. Pastors Mark & Deb have been married and in the ministry since 1988. They have two kids: Mia & Noah.
Church Transition Update: Beginning in January of 2015, we are incredibly blessed to welcome Pastors Mark and Deb Giaimo back to Cornerstone Chapel to serve as our lead pastors. With 27 years of ministry experience and a deep love for the Cornerstone Chapel family, they count it a privilege to pastor and serve the congregation and community of Medina. Pastors Mark and Deb most recently served as lead pastors at Family Fellowship Church in Amherst, Ohio, and are both gifted teachers of the Word and truly passionate about leading and encouraging people as they seek healing, deliverance, and a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The Giaimos, along with their two children, Mia and Noah, are thrilled to begin a new season of ministry as God reveals the new thing He is beginning for Cornerstone Chapel in the years to come. As Pastor Jeff and Mary Jane Kolodziej transition from their positions at Cornerstone Chapel at the end of this year, it is a time to celebrate the immeasurable influence they have had in their 30 years of ministry at Cornerstone Chapel. We recognize the many lives that have been touched and brought closer to the knowledge of our Lord because of the obedience of a young couple 30 years ago to plant a church in Medina and serve faithfully since that day. With both prayer and gratitude, we release them into God s plan for the new phase of their life and ministry. Please continue to pray for Pastor Jeff and Mary Jane, Pastors Mark and Deb Giaimo, and the leadership of Cornerstone Chapel during this time of transition. Much prayer, counsel, and spiritual guidance has been sought during this process by those who desire only God's will for our church body. God is stirring up within our community a new season, a new awakening, and a new commitment to seek after Him. "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" - Isaiah 43:19

Ladies' 6-Week Bible Study The Study begins January 22 nd & 23 rd. With practical insights and applications from Chrystal Evans Hurst, Tony Evans explains how to unleash new purpose, power, and possibilities in both the lives of Kingdom Women and those they love. Women will be encouraged to embrace their role as leaders under God s authority and challenged to live as true heirs under the covenant God has made with His children affirmed in their identity as valued daughters of Christ.
