The general idea of the project Interdisciplinary environmental research Innovative monitoring and prognostic tool application Sustainable Management Society of Knowledge
The objectives of the project: 1. To develop an ecological research and GIS documentation directed on the better understanding of ecosystem processes as causes of high primary productivity and biodiversity loss in Vistula Lagoon. 2. To use and improve the remote sensing technique for extraction of spatial variability of physical, chemical and biological water parameters 3. To combine the environmental and remote sensing research results into input-output simulation model 4. To implement the Internet service for diagnostic and prediction of environmental changes in Vistula Lagoon as useful management tool.
ACTIONS (MODULES, WORK PACKAGES) 1. Project management and reporting (UWM, NIVA, HSVE) 2. GIS data and metadata collection from official Polish databases (UWM) 3. Meteorological and hydrodynamic data collection (UWM) 4. Measurements and sampling in situ, biogeochemical and biological material analysis (UWM, HSVE). 5. Optical measurement field campaign (NIVA). 6. Satellite image programming, acquisition and preprocessing (UWM). 7. Water parameters extraction from satellite observations (UWM). 8. Testing and verifying simulation hydrodynamic and water quality model (NIVA) 9. Internet service construction (UWM). 10. Dissemination and scientific output of the results, seminars, conferences, training for target group (HSVE, UWM,).
