The next prompt will say "This appears to be your first connection to AppGate" click OK again, and the connection screen will appear. Enter your Council allocated Username for AppGate, which should begin with sc followed by your intials and a number (e.g. scxxxnnn) In the "Password" box, enter your AppGate password. Once your connection is established, you will see a screen similar to the following. Double click on the icon to connect to your school's server (in the example below the icon shows "Sch RDP to SherbourneFields Server", but you will see your own school): Note: If your school has remote access to both admin and curriculum servers, you will see two icons, one for the admin server and one for the curriculum server. If you have requested remote access to your PC rather than the server, you will see an additional icon for RDP to your PC. Double click on the icon for the server/pc to which you have been granted access. Note for Windows 7 users: You may be prompted with a Remote Desktop Connection message to the effect that: "The publisher of this remote connection cannot be identified - do you want to connect anyway?" If so, click "Connect". 4 of 6
At the next screen: Select "Other User" Enter your school user name and password where prompted to do so. Note: If your school has a Windows 2008 server, your username should be entered with the domain first followed by a back slash then your user name, for example: JSADMIN\admin20 OR.\admin20 You should now have access to your school network. Important Note Please be aware that should your school's server be shut down - for example during school holidays remote access will not be possible. 3 Closing down your remote access you MUST do this every time Log out of your school network as normal. You will be returned to the AppGate Client screen: To close your AppGate connection, click on "Connection", then "Close Connection" and "OK". Close the AppGate Client screen (X in the top right-hand corner). Important Note The server only permits two concurrent connections, therefore it is essential that you log off completely and close your AppGate connection each time, otherwise you may not be able to re-connect and will prevent others from connecting.
