Curse Descriptin Intrductin t the case management prcess and prcedures used in cunseling and human service settings Curse Gals: Develp a cnceptual understanding f case and caselad management and ability t apply this knwledge t different ppulatins and settings. Practical Curse Descriptin Case management in rehabilitatin is a cllabrative prcess f assessment planning, facilitatin and advcacy fr ptins and services t meet the needs f the client (CMSA, 1995). It is the prcess f linking, managing and/r rganizing services in a wide variety f settings t meet client needs (Huber, 1996). Effective case and caselad management results in psitive utcmes. II. Learning Objectives The curse will fcus n dcumentatin, planning, prblem-slving prcesses, and management techniques assciated with the vcatinal issues fr individuals with disabilities. An emphasis is placed n verall gal f quality f life f individuals served. The fllwing are learning bjectives will be addressed in this class: increase understanding f the imprtance f multicultural and diversity issues in ethical case management increase understanding f the range, type, availability f and criteria fr accessing cmmunity resurces; increase understanding f the varius mdels / settings f rehabilitatin case management;

Evaluatin/Grading Scale Quizzes (10@10 pints each) Each quiz will be wrth 10 pints and will cver the assigned reading fr that class. The quizzes will include multiple chice, true/false, matching, fill in the blank, and shrt answer questins. N make-up quizzes will be given. Being in class is imprtant t btain quiz pints. (100 pssible pints) **Nte: Lectures are supplementary t readings. Nt all materials cvered in the readings may be repeated in class. Likewise, nt all curse material presented in class may be included in the text. Case Studies (3@10 pints each) Student will prepare respnses t case studies ffered related t situatins/scenaris faced by case managers/cunselrs (30 pssible pints). Final Exam (1@40 pints) Student will have in-class final exam where they will prepare respnses t questins asked. (40 pssible pints). V. NOTES This is a required class in the RCT prgram. As such, attendance/participatin is encuraged.
