The Mobile app In this section Introduction Phones that support the Mobile app Download the mobile app onto your Android phone Download the mobile app onto your iphone Using the Mobile app Introduction Use the FarmIQ mobile app to record events on farm directly into the FarmIQ System without needing to go back to your computer. The mobile app is free. If phone coverage on farm is patchy the app will store the transaction until you are back in coverage. The phone will then automatically send the transaction to FarmIQ to be processed. For users with access to multiple farms in the FarmIQ System, the mobile display includes a Switch farms facility. Whenever FarmIQ puts out a new release or upgrade to the system you will need to download the FarmIQ app again. The System checks that you are using the latest release and alerts you to upgrade if you need to. You can record: Pasture covers Sales and Deaths Weights and Health treatments Stock movements Send stock to graze Rainfall Tasks Multiple events from one file Phones that support the Mobile app The Mobile app works on both Android phones and iphones. The app works only on some models and some features are not available on iphones. See the boxes below for details. Android phones The mobile app works on Android Smartphones running Android version 4.03 and above. You can transfer files from indicator boxes to Android phones using Bluetooth. This means you can also use the mobile app to record animal events using EID files. You can also transfer EID files into the FarmIQ system for later use. Farm IQ: The mobile app Page 1
iphones: The mobile app works on any iphone 4 and above, running ios7 and above. You can transfer files from the XR5000 indicator to iphones using Wi-Fi. You cannot transfer files from any other indicator boxes to iphones, because iphones are not Bluetooth compatible with indicator boxes. This means you can only record animal events by mob or paddock unless your indicator is an XR5000. You cannot transfer files into the FarmIQ system for later use unless your indicator is an XR5000. To download the mobile app onto your Android phone: 1. Go to the Google Play Store. If you can t find the store, contact Support. 2. Select Apps. 3. Search for the FarmIQ app. Its name is FARMIQ. 4. Follow the instructions to download it. 5. Once it is downloaded, log on with your regular FarmIQ user name and password. If you have any problems, contact Support. Using the Mobile app The Mobile app has three screens: Calendar: a summary of the most recent events on your farm Calendar. Notifications: a list of transactions waiting to be processed. Menu: a list of features available to you. Calendar The Calendar displays the latest 10 activities recorded on the app or your PC. Entry method as indicated by a phone or a computer icon. You cannot edit or delete Calendar entries on the phone. The Calendar updates when the app syncs. Press the circular arrow icon to prompt sync. Notifications Use the notification screen to see pending and unsuccessful activities. Pending activities have not been received by the system yet. If any error messages arrive you must resolve them on your computer. Farm IQ: The mobile app Page 3
Menu Use the menu icon to see features and record activities. The logout button is at the bottom of the menu. Log out to let another user to log in on the same device. Features on the menu: Category Feature (see details below) About Animal Upload a file Upload a file from the indicator to your computer. The file will be stored in your Tag library ready to use later on. Health treatments Move stock Deaths Weights Sales Grazing Record what stock you have treated. Record which paddock you have moved your stock into. Record stock losses. Upload weights to the system without having to take the indicator to the computer. Record stock sales. Send grazing stock. Admin Tasks Create tasks and view existing tasks assigned to you. Land Pasture covers Record pasture covers from the paddock. Rainfall Record rainfall at the rain gauge. If you cannot see a feature. You may not see all these features on your phone. The features you see will depend on the FarmIQ Pack that your farm has subscribed to and the permissions that you have been granted. About recording events When you are recording an event, if the file contains additional data, you can use it to record additional events. For example, if you are recording a health treatment and your file contains condition score information, you will be given the option to record the condition scores. If your phone is not within cell phone range events will be automatically transferred to the FarmIQ system when you return to cell phone range. Animal Features Notes: Events using EID files will only be processed if you have previously added the animals to the FarmIQ System. For new stock use the feature Upload a file, then on your PC locate the uploaded files in your Tag Library to add these animals to your farm. Upload a file Connect to your wand or indicator via Bluetooth to upload files directly to the FarmIQ System. Uploaded files are stored in your Tag library. Health treatments Record up to five treatments at once using tally or EID file. You can enter the date of the Health treatment. By EID file connect to your Tag Reader or device via Bluetooth to upload files directly to the FarmIQ System. Uploaded files are stored in your Tag library. Move stock Record mob moves while you are out on the farm. The move stock feature uses GPS to bring up the paddocks closest to you that also have stock in them. Deaths Record the paddock and the cause of death. You can use an EID file or record by tally. Weights You can record weights using EID file only. Sales Record sold stock using either tally or EID file. Uploaded files are stored in your Tag library. Grazing Record grazing events where owned stock have been sent off the farm to graze using tally or EID file. Uploaded files are stored in your Tag library. Land Features Pasture covers Record pasture covers while you are out on the farm. You can : record pasture covers by paddock or by block, these are used for the farm average cover. The pasture covers feature uses GPS to bring up the paddocks closest to you. record pasture cover using a Farm walk that you have set up on the System. record multiple paddocks in the same pasture cover event. choose a pre or post pasture cover event to be submitted on the mobile. The latest recording of Pasture covers overrides any previous recording for the same day. Rainfall Record rainfall while at the rain gauge. You can : Record rainfall for the current date or any previous date. The latest recording overrides any previous recording for the same day.
