ANNOUNCEMENT PROGRAM : CERTIFICATION COURSE FOR "200 HOURS TRAINING ON HAEMODIALYSIS FOR REGISTERED MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS " IMPORTANT DATES DATE OF REGISTRATION: 15 October 2013 to 31 December 2013 EXPECTED DATE OF FIRST COURSE: November or December 2013 DURATION OF PROGRAM: Each course must be completed within 6 months DEADLINE FOR COMPLETION OF CERTIFICATION: 31 December 2014 Malaysian Society of Nephrology is pleased to announce a program to train registered medical practitioners (RMP) on haemodialysis. PROGRAM MODULES Weekend Dialysis Workshop (schedule will be announced at a later date) Clinical attachment to accredited haemodialysis centres in the Ministry of Health or Ministry of Education facilities Exit assessment ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 1. RMP from existing haemodialysis centres without trained Person in Charge (PIC) as required by Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 [Act 586] 2. RMP planned to be named as PIC for private haemodialysis centre that have granted by Ministry of Health (CKAPS) with either an approval for zoning; or an approval for establishment (Borang 2) RULES & REGULATIONS 1. Eligibility criteria should be met Registration should be made through Malaysian Society of Nephrology 2. Details of premise should be submitted together with the application 3. Each application should get endorsement from CKAPS (in writing or email). Submit the endorsement with the application form. 4. Candidate should complete all the modules of the training program: 4.1. Workshop (15 hours) The candidate must attend all lectures in the workshop. 4.2. Clinical Dialysis Attachment (185 hours) Candidate should complete the logbook on their dialysis attachment. Only the local preceptors and Consultant Nephrologist-in-charge of the dedicated haemodialysis unit are allowed to verify the logbook entry. The medical practitioner needs to submit the book within 2 weeks after completion of the program to our secretariat. Certificate will not be issued if the log-book is not returned.
CLINICAL ATTACHMENTS ARE ONLY PERMITTED AT THE ACCREDITED CENTRES (refer to the list of accredited centres). Changing centres of dialysis attachment is not encouraged once the training has commenced. 4.3. Exit assessment The candidate needs to pass the exit assessment 5. The course should be completed within 6 months of starting the program and completed before 31 December 2014. 6. Success candidate is required to be the PIC of the named private haemodialysis centre at least 2 years 7. The schedule and venue of the weekend workshop will be announced from time to time on the Malaysian Society of Nephrology (MSN) website (http://www.msn.org.my). Please register for this workshop early as places may be limited. 8. The names and details of the certified medical practitioner who had satisfactorily completed the training program will be submitted to the Medical Practice Division, Ministry of Health for record and verification purposes. 9. The MSN committee reserves the right to deny any certification of completion if the medical practitioner did not comply to the rules and regulation stated above. 10. MSN also reserves the right to change the timing of the training program. If the event the change is unavoidable, the RMP and haemodialysis centre will be notified. 11.
