To create awareness on E-Payment which includes: Promoting card acceptance via POS terminal through merchants sign-up Stop double swiping at POS terminal Promoting debit card and e-debit usage and acceptance Reduce cash & cheque transactions by promoting fund transfer via online banking, ATM, JomPay Page 4

5 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 2) What is e-payment? E-Payment stands for electronic payment. E-payments include making payment via online through JomPay, IBG funds transfer, Pex, Pex Plus or making payment using credit card, debit card, e-debit, and etc. 3) What is double swiping at Point of Sales (POS)? During card acceptance process, some of the merchants require cashier to swipe credit card twice at card terminal & POS respectively. By double swiping, cardholder s information will be captured at POS and at the risk of being misuse by the merchant or POS vendor. Page 5

6 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 4) When is the BNM roadshow event & Township Campaign? The Township Campaign commence on 26 th May 2015 and shall end on Dec The said campaign shall be launched in 7 states of Malaysia, starting with Penang and followed by Johor, Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The Township Campaign for each state shall last for minimum 3 months and there will be Hong Leong Bank branches identified to participate in the said campaign. In addition to the Township Campaign, there will be 1-day Roadshow event held at 5 states namely, Penang, Johor, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak. Please refer to table A on the Township Campaign and Roadshow Schedule for each state and the participating Hong Leong Bank branches. Page 6

Hong Leong Mobile POS, also known as MPOS, provides an alternative way of accepting card payments to all range of businesses from SMEs to well established companies. Accepting card payment is made even simpler with the convenience and flexibility offered by MPOS. It is hassle free to run businesses at anytime and anywhere within Malaysia as MPOS is a small, portable and user friendly device. And yet, it is affordable. 8 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 6) What is the promotion offered to SMEs to sign-up Hong Leong Bank s merchant facility? During the Township Campaign, SMEs will be offered with: Special Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) at 1.50% across the board Lower rental fee Fixed line terminal at RM 60 p.m. GPRS terminal at RM 100 p.m. MPOS reader at RM 40 p.m. Waiver of set-up fee and deposits for Fixed line & GPRS terminal. MPOS reader at one time set up fee of RM 50 p.m. and waiver of deposits Subject to the assessment by the Bank, merchant may be offered a better rate than the above promotion. Page 8

9 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 7) Is the promotion applicable to all HLB branches or only to the participating Hong Leong Bank branches? The promotion is only applicable to the Hong Leong Bank branches in the 7 participating states. Hong Leong Bank branches in the 7 participating states are encouraged to offer the same promotion as stated in Item 7 above and refer potential SME leads to Merchant Acquiring Team Leads for sign-up. However, only the participating branches will be provided with communication materials to promote the offers.
