Congress on Vocational Education and Training, International Recruitment of skilled Labour and Export of Training TUESDAY, 4 NOVEMBER 2014 at the GlobalConnect, Trade Fair Centre Stuttgart Vocational training Made in Germany in demand worldwide!
Ladies and gentlemen, Germany has the lowest youth unemployment rate in Europe. This is owed to our vocational education and training system, which qualifies young people for work driven by needs and practical aspects to suit the requirements of companies. We are pleased to share our knowledge with the increasing number of countries interested to learn more about in-company vocational training in Germany. They want to know specifically which elements can be applied in their home country and how to go about this. The congress provides a platform to explore how the concept of in-company vocational training can be applied on an international scale and how skilled labour can be recruited. For this purpose, we have invited a number of experts from companies, chambers, science, associations, trade unions, administration, and politics. How can companies transfer their expertise of successful on-the-job vocational training in Germany to their subsidiaries abroad? How can young people living abroad be recruited for in-company vocational training in Germany? How can educational services which are tried and tested in Germany be exported abroad? How can proven elements from the national education systems in Germany, Switzerland and Austria be transferred to other countries? Speakers from these countries present their experiences. Particularly for our international guests, we offer an expert panel that will introduce them to the German system of in-company vocational training. I would like to thank the co-organisers of the congress: The Federal Institute for Vocational Training (Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung, BIBB), Handwerk International Baden-Württemberg and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Stuttgart region. My special thanks go to the speakers who will be sharing their expertise with us. At the close of the congress, I will present the GlobalConnect Award to internationally successful companies during the reception for all visitors of the GlobalConnect. I am delighted to invite you to our forthcoming congress Vocational training Made in Germany in demand worldwide! also on behalf of the co-organisers. I am looking forward to seeing you. Yours faithfully Dr. Nils Schmid, MdL Deputy Minister-President and Minister of Finance and Economics of Baden-Württemberg
