PROBLEM DESCRIPTION Many of former soviet buildings, such are former sport complexes, or swimming pools are getting abandoned because of too high operational costs. These types of buildings were built without considering energy efficiency or energy saving schemes, that makes then currently rather unattractive for private investors.

PROJECT IDEA My project idea is to develop energy efficiency scheme for the secondary school s sport complex (including swimming pool) Availability of natural sulfate water in the district, could be reason to develop energy saving scheme for this particular object which will radically change costbenefit of the facility and make it available again for school pupils or people living in the neighborhood.

SPECIFIC PROJECT INFORMATION BUILDING CATEGORY : SCHOOL SPORT COMPLEX YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION: 1980 HEATED FLOOR AREA : 1 827.0 M2 TYPE OF HEATING SYSTEM : GEOTHERMAL, CONDENSING BOILER TYPE OF VENTILATION SYSTEM : AHU WITH PLATE TYPE RECUPERATOR TYPE OF DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEM : SOLAR SYSTEM, FOR DOMESTIC HOT WATER TYPE OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM: CENTRAL (BMS) DEDUCTION OF CO2 EMISSION: 50 T/YR BUILDING FAÇADES AND ROOF INSULATION: POLIURETANE INSULATION

GOAL DESCRIPTION Usage of energy efficiency technologies and materials in the building are profitable investment in long run To create energy efficient sample building, for local investors. This initiative can serve as a pilot project for other same type of facilities and will demonstrate that smart attitude might give a new life to a property that seemed to be unprofitable.
