The Aircrews are qualified for NVG SAR and Emergency Medical Service response in order to provide a 24-hour all-weather advanced life support paramedic resource. The P1AR crews, including dual IFR pilots, hoist operators, rescue swimmers and flight paramedics, supplement Era s state-of-the-art program-dedicated AW139 and EC225 helicopters. These aircraft types have flight performance capabilities to execute deepwater maritime SAR and Emergency Medical Services operations at distances up to 250 nautical miles offshore. Crews are capable of providing ground-based technical rescue support for high angle rope rescue, worker entrapment and confined space rescue support on various oil platforms and vessels. SAR Crew/Paramedic Duties and Capabilities We utilize some of the latest technology in aviation and air medical equipment to provide 24 hour emergency services to work in some of the most extreme environments in the world. System Operator/EMT Priority 1 Air Rescue s System Operators are FAA Part 133 Class D Rescue Hoist certified. They are responsible for crew chief duties and conning the helicopter and pilot over position while safely hoisting the aircrew and equipment to the ground, ocean, or vessel. Responsibilities: Hoist, Night-Sun, FLIR operations Emergency Medical Technician SAR planning Rescue Paramedic Priority 1 Air Rescue s Rescue Paramedics are SAR trained remote access advanced life support paramedics. All Rescue Paramedics are Class D Rescue Hoist certified and hold National Registry Advanced Life Support (ALS) certificate/license. Our medical crews offer the ability to provide: ALS paramedic pre-hospital patient care Helicopter remote access rescue Rescue Swimmer Helicopter based Rescue Swimmers enter the water to assist survivors in distress and are required to perform in heavy sea states for greater than 30 minutes. Rescue Swimmers go through a very physically rigorous selection and training process to be certified.
