17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 (2011) BS7671 Price: 354.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds / Logic Certification The 17th Edition Wiring Regulations course is necessary for all candidates new to the electrical industry, practicing electricians, electrical engineers and domestic electrical installers wishing to operate in the Eletrotechnincal Industry. It is an essential course aimed at giving the candidate a thorough understanding of the fully up to date requirements of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008 (2011). This short electrical qualification can be completed on our popular weekend course or alternatively you can attend one of our evening classes held regularly at our centres in the East Midlands. Building Regulations (Part P) Domestic Installer Full Scope Price: 714.00 Awarding body: Logic Certification To register on a competent person scheme with NICEIC, ECA or NAPIT, you will need to develop your knowledge and skills and have an understanding of Part P of the Building Regulations. This 5 day qualification has been designed to assist you in achieving the standard expected in the electrical industry. This course is ideal if you wish to undertake domestic installation work and on completion of this it is recommended that you achieve the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations course, you will then be able to register on a competent person scheme and become a domestic installer. 4

Domestic Installers Course - Fast Track Price: 1,916.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds/Logic Certification/EAL This qualification has been developed by Training in Electrical aimed at those candidates wishing to enter the electrical industry and fast track their qualifications. This course has been designed with you in mind. The course package includes 4 separate qualifications which focus on the knowledge and skills required to become a Competent Electrical Installer for the domestic market. By achieving these recommended qualifications will assist you in gaining accreditation with NICEIC or ELECSA. Essential Domestic Electrics & Basic Fault Finding for Beginners Price: 714.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical Certification This 5 day course has been specifically designed to assist people in preparing to become domestic installers. By completing this course the candidate will gain the theory and practical skills required to progress onto the Part P domestic installer s course. If you are new to the electrical trade or are considering a change in career this course is ideal for you. On completion of the course you will have an understanding of electrical theories, electrician s tools, identifying components and typical domestic wiring circuits. City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations Level 2 (Buildings & Structures) Price: 1,995.00 Deposit: 665.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds The course has been designed for candidates wanting a viable entry route into the electrical industry. This qualification provides an understanding of electrical principles including AC theory, single phase and three phase power systems all to the latest 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 (2011). It also covers Health & Safety in Building Services, Electrical Installation Technology, Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures and Communication with other Building Services. The aim of this electrical course is to provide and help develop regulation knowledge, practical hands on skills and science required for electrical installation work. City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations Level 3 (Buildings & Structures) Price: 1,995.00 Deposit: 665.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds If you are looking to become a qualified electrician and want to work in domestic, commercial and industrial premises the City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification is now the recognised route. The Level 3 qualification is the intended progression route for candidates who have already achieved the 2365 Level 2, 2330 Level 2 or 2360 Part 1. It is also possible to join straight onto the Level 3 course if you have previous electrical knowledge equivalent to Level 2. This course builds on the knowledge gained in the Level 2 and covers Health and Safety, Principles of Electrical Science, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning, Fault Diagnosis and Rectification, Environmental Technology Systems, Electrical Systems Design and Career Awareness in Building Services. 6

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Price: 270.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds The City & Guilds 2377-22 2 day electrical course has been designed for candidates wishing to carry out inspection and testing of electrical equipment. This course is open to any persons with little or no electrical knowledge or experience and is delivered with this in mind. As there is a legal requirement to periodically inspect electrical appliances in the work place it is ideal for people who have to manage and certify electrical equipment. This course will give you the knowledge and hands on experience in how to correctly perform PAT testing using the latest equipment. Completing this course will give you the confidence you require to correctly perform this role. City & Guilds 2357 NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) Price: 1,074.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds The City & Guilds 2357-13 and 2357-23 qualifications are aimed at electrical operatives who require an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation. If you are looking to become graded with the JIB (Joint Industry Board) as an Approved Electrician you are required to hold a Level 3 technical certificate along with an NVQ Level 3. Candidates working in the electrical trade usually embark onto the NVQ to enhance their employability and a guaranteed higher rate of pay. 7

Initial and Periodic Inspection & Testing of Domestic Electrical Installations Price: 474.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical Certification This 3 day Domestic Initial and Periodic inspection and Testing course supplies the knowledge and practical requirements for electrical installers who wish to issue Periodic Inspection Reports, for domestic properties. This course is essential if you are planning to register as a Part P installer under the competent person scheme. The course will guide you through the process of testing existing or new installations and will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to safely perform this task. This qualification consists of both theory and practical skills in performing inspection & testing and whilst learning you will have the opportunity to use a variety of test equipment. Introduction to Inspection & Testing Price: 354.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical Certification This 2 day course is ideal for candidates new to the electrical trade or those that are considering their inspection and testing qualifications. There have been recent changes to the Inspection & Testing qualifications presently offered by City & Guilds and Logic Certification. During the course candidates will be able to gain an understanding of inspection & testing of electrical circuits and have the opportunity to use different electrical testers gaining hands on experience. You will also be shown why and how to complete test certificates and to get familiar with Guidance Notes 3, the 17th Edition Regulations guide to Inspection and Testing. This course is very popular with candidates allowing them to get prior experience and knowledge before commencing their qualification. 8

City & Guilds 2394/2395 Initial and Periodic Inspection, Testing & Condition Reporting Combined Course Price: 1074.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds /Logic Certification / EAL The new City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 Level 3 awards have been developed to directly replace the City & Guilds 2391-10 and comprehensively covers Inspection, Testing and Condition Reports for electrical installations. Training in Electrical has combined both qualifications together and forms the recognised route for approved electrical status with the JIB. This course will give you the theory and hands on experience necessary to safely conduct inspection and testing. This course also incorporates the significant changes to BS 7671:2008 (2011) 17th Edition IET Wiring Regulations. It is delivered at a steady pace and is available as an evening class or as a daytime short course. EAL - Initial and Periodic Inspection, Testing & Condition Reporting Combined Price: 1,074.00 Awarding body: EAL Due to the requirements of the JIB, Training in Electrical has combined both initial and periodic condition reporting qualifications as a 5 day combined qualification course. These qualifications are brand new and have been endorsed by Summit Skills and have been verified by Ofqual. Studying both these qualifications are a direct alternative to the City & Guilds 2394/5 combined course and is generally delivered over 5 days. These qualifications will help you to develop your knowledge and practical skills required to professionally design and install and periodic inspect and test electrical installations. 9

Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations Price: 594.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds / EAL This award is ideal for qualified electricians wishing to update their knowledge of electrical installation skills in initial verification in inspection and testing. This award is crucial if you are a qualified electrician and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. This electrical course includes both theory and more importantly hands on experience testing real life installations at one of our training centres. This qualification will help the candidate develop their knowledge and practical skills required to professionally design and install or inspect and test electrical installations. The course is designed to give you the understanding of the principles, practices and legislation for the initial verification and certification of electrical installations. Periodic Inspection, Testing & Condition Reporting of Electrical Installations Price: 594.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds / EAL This qualification is aimed at practising electricians, or equivalent, who already have experience carrying out the process of Periodic Inspection as per the requirements of BS7671. It is also ideal for those candidates who have not carried out periodic inspection and testing but want to enhance their careers and prospects. This electrical course includes both theory and more importantly hands on experience testing real life 3 phase installations at one of our training centres. Emergency Lighting Price: 186.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical This 1 day emergency lighting course is designed for candidates who wish to safely and competently design, install, inspect and test and commission emergency lighting systems. Learners attending this course will gain and understanding of domestic, commercial and industrial lighting systems and is based on the IET Guide to Emergency Lighting updated to the recent changes in the Codes of Practice for Emergency Escape Lighting of Premises in BS 5266. Fire Alarm Price: 282.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical This Fire alarm course is essential for electrical operatives who are embarking on the fitting of these systems. This is an excellent course aimed to provide candidates with an understanding of BS 5839. Part 1 and 6. More and more electricians are being called upon to install and maintain fire alarm systems in rented, commercial and industrial premises. It is important to be able to competently design, install and test these fire alarm systems. Learners attending this course will gain and understanding of domestic and non-domestic installations. This 2 day course will comprise of 1 day theory based on Part 1 and Part 6 of BS5839 and 1 day workshop practical where you will have the opportunity to put your skills into practice. Gaining hands on installation and commissioning skills installing a predesigned fire alarm system. 11

City & Guilds 2919-01 Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation Level 3 Price: 354.00 Awarding body: City & Guilds This is a fantastic new qualification aimed at electrical operatives in the installation of the new Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment. On completion of this course you will be able to install domestic, commercial and industrial charging equipment. Now is the ideal time to take advantage of this course especially due to the new Government Plugged-In Places Scheme. This scheme allows electrical operatives to fit charging points for customers (even though they don t have an electric vehicle) through a grant funded scheme. Please note: This particular course is the full 2 day version for domestic, commercial and industrial installations. Installation and maintenance of small scale Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Price: 594.00 Awarding body: Logic Certification This 4 day electrical course is ideal for anyone interested in working in the renewable energy market. This qualification can be a progression from the environmental technologies awareness course or alternatively if you have electrical experience can be studied as a standalone qualification. If you are considering designing, installing and maintaining Solar Photovoltaic systems in a growing market, this is the course for you. On completion of this qualification you will have gained the knowledge and skills to install Solar PV systems and become eligible for accreditation with the MCS Certification Scheme. The qualification is the recognised route for solar PV installers. 12

Environmental Technology Awareness Course Price: 354.00 Awarding body: Logic Certification This 2 day qualification is ideal for candidates interested in Renewable Energy Sources and is open to anyone regardless of their trade or background. This level 3 qualification is intended to give the candidate a broad understanding of all environmental technologies presently available such as Solar PV, Wind Turbine, Biomass and Ground Source Heating Systems. Once completed the candidate can choose which area they wish to specialise in. There is currently a high demand for Solar PV surveyors and qualified installers due to the large amount of installations still being carried out across the country. Domestic Wind Turbine Course Price: 594.00 Awarding body: Training in Electrical Certification This 3 day course has been designed due to demand in the electrical trade for installers who are competent in the knowledge of sighting and installing wind turbines up to 3.5kW (G83/1). This course will also cover roof mounted and larger turbine systems. Wind turbines offer an attractive incentive for customers and there has never been such a demand for installers across the country. Renewable energy sources are the biggest growth area in the United Kingdom, so why not take advantage of this course?
