8 INSTALLATION PROCESS Our fully trained surveyor will come and assess your property and advise you on what type of system we recommend and present you with a quote client meeting If you re happy to proceed we will require a 25% deposit and insure it via the RECC guaranteed deposit scheme. We will ask for a copy of photo ID (passport or driving licence) and Electricity bill ready to complete your FIT application. the technical survey Our surveyor will contact you to arrange a convenient time to survey your property. Check that your property will reach Band D on an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate). the installation Our installation team will arrive first thing and aim to complete in one day. If the weather is too bad then completion may take a little longer. Health & Safety of our employees and your property is of paramount importance before we leave Our electrician will turn the system on and check all is working correctly. They will go through the working of the system and let you know what to look for. Please pay your final balance, confirm we have all information we need so that we can submit your FIT application. we carry on working Once we have collated all of your paper work, we will register your system to enable you to claim your FIT payments, as well as inform the building inspectorate. All of your paperwork will be collated in to a hand book, with your warranties and sent to you for your records. after care We remain available to answer questions and give advice as you get used to your new solar system and learn how to make the most of it. 9 THE BENEFITS OF SOLAR Sunshine is free so, once you ve installed a solar power system, you can generate your own free electricity. This means you can: Cut your electricity bills: The electricity your Solar Panels produce can power your home, significantly reducing the amount of electricity you ll need to buy during the day. Get paid for the power you produce: The system owner is paid a subsidy for producing electricity. No matter whether you use the electricity you generate or not, these Feed In Tariffs (FITs) reward you for generating carbon free renewable energy. Sell your electricity back to the National Grid: If your system is producing more electricity than you need at any given time, then the surplus electricity flows back into the grid; for a further payment your export tariff.
